Roberts Park

Reviewed By Paul F - Chesterfield, United Kingdom

This park is very well kept, with lovely views and arbours to sit in. The café in the park looked nice, but ridiculously didn't allow dogs and was empty (Park was full of people walking dogs...mmmmm). We walked around enjoying the scene for a while before heading back over the bridge, well worth a visit.

Salts Mill

Reviewed By WiganAlison - Wigan

Visited Salt's Mill and was amazed by the sheer size of the place. It was tastefully renovated to include art display areas where a large selection of David Hockney pieces are displayed. A further exhibition of paintings by Kitty North was on display. There are a number of shops which are worth a visit but particularly the book shop.
We did consider going into one of the coffee shops/diners but they seemed so hot and airless that we didn't bother.

Baildon Moor

Reviewed By CarolyneC19 - Bradford, United Kingdom

Visited the woodland and walks near Shipley Glen on several afternoons as a fabulous way to blow away the cobwebs and appreciate the wonderful countryside on offer.
The boys loved exploring the woodland; finding sticks and clamoring over the rocks.
The terrain along the top, up from Prod Lane near the pub/cafe is also manageable by those who may not be used to rambling or walking.
There are plenty of benches and rocks from white view the amazing scenery.
A family favourite.

The Fox

Reviewed By QSM42 - Leeds, United Kingdom

Whether for a lunchtime snack or evening drink, the Fox is a friendly and comfortable venue. The relaxed atmosphere coupled with the selection of guest ales (some of which are brewed on site) interesting draught options and extensive back bar makes for a great place to chat and enjoy other people's company. During the lunch period a small selection of dishes are available, those that I have tried have all been very tasty and good value for money.

Saltaire Brewery

International award-winning Saltaire Brewery is in Shipley, West Yorkshire. Formed in 2005, it has enjoyed brewing hand crafted ales since 2006. Our beers have won more than 70 trade awards, including two national championship brews and two international gold medals for our Triple Chocoholic Stout. Our most popular and well-known beer is Saltaire Blonde, which is a permanent ale on bars across Yorkshire. And, as West Yorkshire drinkers have more microbreweries to choose from than anywhere else in the UK, we're proud that it's so many people's favourite ale. Saltaire Brewery is also home to our famous monthly Beer Club and our Brewery Tap and Shop, where drinkers from across the North meet to try our brews and those of our guest brewers. We brew more than 600 casks of quality ales a week, which we deliver all over Yorkshire as well the North West, Cumbria and North East.

Okay it's a cold freezing Friday night in Shipley do you stay in or go and stand in the cold drinking beer. Well I chose the later, £5 tickets get them in advance you get 2 * 1/2 pint tokens back worth £2, spend them wisely.
I will just mention the hog roast, nothing to do with the brewery, but it was very disappointing, the bread cake had no substance and is was still hungry but not willing to pay another £5!
So back to beer good selection, I would suggest buy a half of each then buy a pint of the ones you like the best, personally I didn't like the dark beers.
Went in around 7pm was busy then it thinned out, then got busy again, then eased off, and eventually I left at 10pm to find food.
So I'm guessing that in summer I will visit again.

Go Bowling

Reviewed By rachel s - Bradford, United Kingdom

This place is perfect for family fun. When the step children are over there's 3 boys to entertain. This place is fab! You can hire the bowling lane for an hour at a very reasonable price. The disco lights always go down well with kids. Next time though I will book, we walked in after not booking and luckily got the last lane. Could have been a nightmare if we hadn't got one.
The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. I will keep returning here
