Bayreuth (German pronunciation: [baɪˈʁɔʏt] ( listen); Upper Franconian: [ba(ː)ˈɾaɪ̯t]) (Bavarian: Bayreith) is a medium-sized town in northern Bavaria, Germany, on the Red Main river in a valley between the Franconian Jura and the Fichtelgebirge Mountains. The town's roots date back to 1194. In the early 21st century, it is the capital of Upper Franconia and has a population of 72,148 (2015). It is world-famous for its annual Bayreuth Festival, at which performances of operas by the 19th-century German composer Richard Wagner are presented.

We enjoyed our meal at Adria. It was a nice change from the heavier German food we had been having on our trip. It seems family oriented and the food was tasty with familiar choices.

I've been here a few times over different visits to Bayreuth. This place is always reliable with excellent beer, friendly English speaking staff, English menus, and good hearty traditional Bavarian food. Be aware, however, that not all dishes are listed on the English menu, so I encourage you to also get a German menu and muddle through!

This is the only semi-vegan place in Bayreuth, therefore we were obliged to test it out, as one of our more persuasive colleagues insisted. The place is rather "free spirited", unfortunately also in the service and cleanliness area. The food was rather average, although the vegan friend was excited about it. It took ages before we could even order, the drinks arrived after good 20 mins of wait. I would not recommend.

There are some pretty rave reviews about this place and from my experience, they're justified. I had a sensationally fresh and tasty salad followed by one of the most outstanding thin, crispy based pizzas I've ever enjoyed. The place is basic and quite small, but the service is lovely and the prices incredibly reasonable. Highly recommended!

Seeking a change of cuisine during a week in Bayreuth, we stopped into the amusingly named Miamiam Glouglou and enjoyed a satisfying bistro meal that recalled similar experiences in France itself. Nice plump escargots, decent soupe de poisson, and two servings of steak-frites, one a filet, the other an entrecote, both properly rare and perfectly seared, doing justice to the fine Charolais beef. The frites were as good as any served in France, crisp and tasty, with no hint of greasiness. Washed down with a pleasant Pays d'Oc wine, this dinner surpassed our expectations, and the price (under 80 Euros) was reasonable. Service was friendly but slightly haphazard, as we watched our steaks offered to another table before coming to us. The chef, however, clearly knows what he is doing.

Pretty good Italian fare, very good pasta and pizza, salads are huge servings. One sits very nicely outside, service by the young staff is good, at times of a fully occupied Terrace a little confused (possibly students during the Opern Festspiele). This restaurant is an excellent alternative to the Steigenberger on the Festspiele grounds, and compared to their prices even relatively inexpensive, yet much much better. Excellent Italian wine list. Highly recommended, we would even visit when in Bayreuth outside of the Wagner festival.

We ate on a weekday night, so it was not crowded. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes but emphasizes steak and Italian dishes. We started with antipasti that was attractively presented and tasted as you would expect something that took careful preparation. Our meals were the same, attractive to look at and better to eat. The wine selection was sufficient and had several that you rarely see. Our red was also excellent. There was no room for dessert when the time came. While we were very pleased with the food and thought the restaurant above average in its decor, the prices were a bit steep. With that in mind, we still recommend Dötzer enthusiastically.

Came here with family of 5. We have chosen the place because it was close to highway and well reviewed in TripAdvisor. It did not disappoint, the kids like the pizza while the adults chose vegetarian pasta variation from the daily menu.
Good value for money, fast and friendly service as well as nice atmosphere. Would come again!

It was random choice of restaurant, but we don't regret it at all and we still recall it with delight. We sat in nice restaurant garden, unfortunately not cigarettes free. We tasted some traditional meat dishes and great Bavarian beer. Portions were enormous and food was very good indeed. The staff was very helpful. We highly recomend this place!

We booked to eat here before we left England as we knew the inside was very small. The day we went the weather was wonderful so lots of tables set up in the street which had a very good atmosphere. All the staff were friendly and efficient and mostly spoke some English. We had Brushetta to start with but it was very disappointing, just warm bread, not crispy, spread with tasteless goop. The main course was much better, their take on tagliata, 3 pieces of sizzling beef and a plate of salad. There are lots of really great places to eat in Bayreuth but I wouldn't recommend this as one of them.
