The gathering place was perfectly positioned , opposite the holiday cottage where we recently spent a week . We had booked ahead and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We were slightly disappointed as the starters, main course and dessert we had chosen from the menu outside, earlier in the day, were all sold out! The Mediterranean platter to share was excellent and my venison casserole was really good. The waiter did seem slightly harrassed, as he was the only front of house staff, and we pointed out that there was broken glass under the table. Nevertheless, a very good meal and we look forward to going back when we are next in the area.

Restaurant at Glen Lui Hotel

Reviewed By Andy1234andyAndy - Dunoon, United Kingdom

I'd gone for food last year. Was well over priced and pretentious which was fine, I wouldn't of normally complained.
I'd gone to the toilet and gotten lost, then I heard the guy who seemed to be running the show mention the table I was sitting on. He was in his office and talking to a member of staff but the doors were open, it's also half open plan. I was amazed to hear that he was very clearly talking about me and my partner. I couldn't believe what he was saying, he was making fun of us, trying to whisper but I heard every word. It was horrible and I can't repeat what was said it on here. The guy later told me he was the owner. I left very depressed and it ruined my night, there was absolutely no need and I'd been nothing but polite. He took our bill, acting in his fake manner - being extremely polite, then I noticed he kept smirking - probably at the fact he was just making fun of us with his staff.

Restaurant at Loch Kinord Hotel

Reviewed By shimayoshi91 - Falun, Sweden

Following the GPS towards Inverness from Aberdeen through the highlands close to Cairngorms national park, we found this little Hotel where we stopped for lunch. We did not expect much but were overwhelmed by the food and the presentation.
Clearly a hidden gem, as it did not show up on our GPS, which showed us to a restaurant no longer open instead. But within a 100 meters we found the Loch Kinord Hotel and was blown away.
Superb food, great service, nice locale.

Alexandra Hotel Restaurant

Reviewed By Baxt304 - Perth, United Kingdom

We had a very nice meal at the Alexander hotel, we wanted to eat in the restaurant but it was not open that evening so we reluctantly ate in the lounge bar, We were pleasantly surprised because it was a quite atmosphere and laid out pretty well for dining. We both had the steak pie with vegetables and mash. The food was excellent, plenty of meat in the pie and very tasty wholesome vegetables. A single main course had us full so we cannot comment on the other courses, I am pretty sure they would have been a good standard. The service throughout our visit was very friendly.
For good wholesome food it is well worth a visit.

Usually I can always trust that any food from this restaurant will be excellent. However this evening my vegetable Madras consisted mainly of onions and little else. There was no rich Madras sauce to speak of and it will be a long time before I pay for a take away again from this restaurant.

The bathroom also had a changing table and changing mat which was useful.
