Inverness Beach Boardwalk

Reviewed By shane c - Calgary, Canada

We were driving by and thought we would like to check out the Beach. We were surprised at how nice and well taken care of the area was. Very nice boardwalk along the sand dunes and easy access to the beach. Views were nice and you have views of the Cabot Golf Course. Plenty of parking available and the only thing that shortened our visit was the weather was not very good.

Glenora Inn and Distillery

Reviewed By GreenGirl2013 - Toronto, Canada

I am not a whiskey drinker but my husband is. We stopped here on our way back to Mainland NS after leaving Inverness. My husband enjoyed the tasting, but found the tour to be a little lacking. We were told it would take 30 mins, but probably only lasted about 15 mins. We stayed for lunch in the pub and it was very good and accompanied by some traditional music. The grounds were beautiful as well.

Cabot Cliffs Golf Course

Reviewed By DickfromSeattle - Seattle, WA

Where to begin? It is not often that golfers encounter a course rated 72.5/142 from the 6,300 yard tees. Even more rare is such a course perched atop oceanside cliffs with magnificent views everywhere. Add in extreme slopes on the greens (thankfully not very fast) and very stiff winds, this seven-mile hike will bring anyone to their knees. But boy, it sure is fun! The accommodations are elegant (and expensive) and the food is good (and not as expensive as they could probably get away with). But it is a very long drive to get to this very remote location. There is a gas station in the little town of Inverness. The course closes in mid-October to April.

I booked a salmon fly fishing trip for my boyfriend back in May. We were home from Alberta for a wedding and I thought this would be great for him, a highlight of his trip.
I called again 3 days before the trip to confirm. Everything was a go. We agreed to meet at 7am. So my boyfriend and I get up at 5 am to make the 1 and a half hour drive to the meeting spot. Then we waited. And waited. And no one showed up. At about 7:20 I called the guide, thinking maybe we were in the wrong meeting spot. He answered and told me he wouldn't be able to make it, that he was sick. I asked why he didn't call to inform us. He said he had lost my number. I'm certain I provided all my contact information when I booked the trip. Also I had called to confirm just 3 days prior. So there we were waiting for nothing at 7 in the morning. If only he had called we could have made other plans for the day. It ruined our day. Extremely unprofessional. How you just not even bother to call your prospective clients to cancel? Also, my boyfriend opted to not bring his fishing gear with him since it was included in the package that I had booked. So no fishing for him. He was extremely disappointed. He had been looking forward to this for months. I like to support local businesses, but bad business like this makes ALL us Cape Bretoners look bad to visitors. Just terrible

Doug is so welcoming as well as personable and if you go visit him and his studio you will not be disappointed. The grounds were lovely to walk around and very relaxing and peaceful. A small gallery but really nice. - Shows change monthly.
In the summer there are great yoga classes as well.
Locals put on a Cabaret every few weeks in the evening - pretty fun.

We entered the Visitor Center in Inverness. Our GPS could not find the way to the Egypt Falls. She had typed the instructions to get there on paper. We had no problems to find it.
There were lots of pamphlets here and the clerk knew what she was doing. She was very nice and liked her job.
Outside there were some info about the historical past of Inverness. Worthwhile to visit!

This is an attractive church. When we entered the church, we were greeted with these letters: "Welcome Failte"
There were wooden benches and the altar at the front had the symbol of the sun.
Behind there was a beautiful painting about Maria.
There were lots of tartans in the church fived on pillars.
There was a second floor as well, and the view from there was amazing!
I enjoyed this church. It reminded me of Scotland. It's worthwhile to see.

Stella Maris Parish

Reviewed By Robby G C - Toronto, Canada

Stella Maris Parish looks quite attractive from the outside. It's beautiful inside as well. The altar is surrounded by flowers and right behind the altar is a large painting of Jesus being the light.
Here too tartans were nailed on pillars. They were also a lot of wooden benches and some stained-glass windows.
There was a second floor as well. That gave a different perspective of this lovely church.
The church bell was outside aside of the church.
I liked that church. Worthwhile to see!
