With friends we took a Saturday night dinner at Brauhaus. A nice place with their own brewery. Engelsbrau beer They are located at a nice spot in the forest just outside Bad Wildungen, a well known German Kurort. Just follow the Kurallee. Good German food. They have many Schnitzel choices, but also the spare ribs are recommendable. Professional host - MR. Engelhoven - who gives his guests a warm welcome feeling. They organize most evenings a quiz. You can win a bottle of beer. There are tours organized in their brewery for those who are interested.The food is a bit too fat and the waiting time was quite long, therefor not five stars. But a good place to recommend. Good pricing. Schnitzel around EUR 8,50. Kitchen open until 10.00 pm.

Bad Wildungen is in the Edersee region one of the more promising places to be. If you are looking for a nice coffee break with German 'Kuchen' seriously consider Cafe am Kirchplatz. Nicely located near the town hall at the church square in the WIldungen old town. Quality is OK, although the cappucinno might be much stronger. Too much milk and probably not specific beans. But you can't expect too much from coffee in most places in Germany. The bakery is special. They offer some special recipes. I can't assess the quality as I am not a specialist. The service is very good at this Konditorei.

Den Koppenretscher kenne ich schon seid über 20 Jahren. (Familie wohnt im Dorf) Im Restaurant war ich in all den Jahren noch nie, aber zu unzähligen Familienfesten, Theater und anderen Veranstaltungen, Irgendwie passt es immer wieder und die nächste Veranstaltung steht schon im Kalender.

The cafe does a great breakfast and has magnificent cakes and chocolates, the services is god the ambiance is pleasing but the coffee really lets them down! So weak and tasteless!

Na ja, das ist schon alles etwas älter und durcheinander (mindestens 3 Stuhlsorten) in dem urigen Garten, wird aber von netten Damen betreut, die dem Gast gern die Spezialität des Hauses servieren: Riesige Windbeutel, als Schwan dekoriert, mit viel echter Sahne und (in meinem Fall) reichlich Blaubeeren. Das riesige Teil (ca 30!cm Durchmesser und ca 25 cm hoch) kann man eigentlich nicht alleine schaffen. Ich empfehle das als „Freundschaftsteller“ zu zweit zu bestellen. Sehr lecker das Ganze und sicher weit und breit einmalig. Gestört haben nur das Dutzend Wespen, um den Windbeutel schwirrend. Erlebnis, empfehlenswert.

My wife and I had walked into town from our accommodation. We were on a Mission to have coffee and cake and found the perfect place. I had the chocolate cake and my wife had a nut cake. Both were delicious. Our coffees were flavoursome too. Great service and excellent value for money.
