We had a mid-week evening meal here whilst on holiday in Ambleside. Having been regular visitors 10+ years ago with our teenage children, we thought we’d try it again. Remembering Zepherellis as a pizza restaurant, that’s what we expected. It’s much much more, though those excellent pizzas are still there. We had a wonderful meal, beautifully served and in a smart, well staffed restaurant. We’re not vegetarian but love the food which is wide ranging and high quality. Staff are professional- it’s an altogether “slick joint”! Already looking forward to return visit next year.

Up in Ambleside for a few days and decided to eat here one night as it was very close to our B&B. Small friendly restaurant with excellent food and very friendly service. Suitable for all ages as the menu is varied. Between us we ate scampi and Thai curry - both dishes very good indeed. Would recommend.

The food here is good, but not awesomely good. After travelling in Thailand on many occasions I suppose I expected a bit more authenticity; the menu was lacking some more common Thai dishes. The starters we had were a touch plain (fishcakes), but saying all that the main courses were good & the food couldn't be faulted. The plates could do to be warmed prior to food being served on them, on a cold March day the food soon went cold. Overall the place is worth a visit

Enjoyed visiting The Old Stamp House and had heard great reviews which were mirrored online. Had the 7 course tasting menu and wine flight as a treat which we enjoyed although didn't come into its own until we got to the fish course. This and those to follow particularly the desserts were outstanding. I'm assuming the gentleman who served our wine was Front of House, his service was of a high standard and he was very passionate about his wine pairing - lovely to see and hear such interest! Some areas which I personally feel need a few tweaks to get up there with the big guys in the area but overall still a good experience.

We open our doors at 10am and serve homemade food. We stop serving savoury hot food at 3.30pm to allow us time to prep for the following day. We do still serve teas, coffees and cakes until 4.00pm. Please do come and visit and fill your hungry tummies!

We stopped for lunch at Rattle Ghyll after changing upon it whilst wandering round Ambleside on a grey day. What a superb find. A vegetarian cafe, it nevertheless had a number of options that appealed to omni me, and my vegetarian wife was in heaven. I had the chili which was wonderful, and she had the dipping platter with pannini, feta, hummus, olives and balsamic which she loved. Our only disappointment was that the mains were so filling we had to share a pudding, as the cakes on offer looked delicious. We settled on the blueberry sponge which was as good as it looked. Rattle Ghyll certainly deserves all the great reviews here, and worth trying even if you're not a vegetarian.

Called in for a spot of lunch and we were not disappointed. Secured a table in the window, perfect to watch the world go by! Service was efficient and friendly and the food was really tasty, as well as being good value for money. I had the soup and Sandwich combo (tomato and chorizo soup - delicious) and my husband had a cooked breakfast. Would definitely recommend to anyone in Ambleside.

A great place for a variety of occasions. The best pub grub in Ambleside and the best kept real ale too. Music for those that want tot dance the nights away and quiz nights, Comedy nights, Open Mic nights. Dogs allowed in too! What is there not to like!

Told of this shop by the till lady in Boots Chemist; big thank you to her! It turned out to be so good we used them for all our walk picnics. Great value, wide choice and good value deals. Much less expensive than othe independants but same quality. Skip the chain shops and head for this little gem.

Family friendly and dog friendly café. We popped in for breakfast for the first time this year and were impressed with the friendly welcome, the food the cleanliness and the prices. Hubby had full English breakfast whilst I had the Americano (well it was cold and we had a long walk ahead :-). It arrived freshly made, piping hot and delicious. However what made us both smile was the bonio offered to our dog even before we had ordered. Would definitely wholeheartedly recommend a visit......and yes, we did go again before we left so I'm blaming Stiles for the extra weight I've managed to gain hahaaa.
