Thank you so much to the Millbrook team! I got married at Millbrook last week and chose one of the Elopement packages. Sarah Monaghan helped by creating a perfect personalised elopement wedding for my husband and I. All of the inclusions were so exciting and perfect for us. Every detail from the resort room, to the couples spa package to the food was absolutely perfect. Isabella and all of the food&beverage team were fantastic. It’s a stunning location for wedding photos. All of the staff we spoke to were so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend everyone to visit and stay at Millbrook. If you’re looking looking for a great place for a wedding Millbrook should be your first choice!!! We will definitely be back! ?

Most relaxing place with amazing service

Reviewed By MelWichart

I stayed 2 nights at The Ocean View Resort to have some time off from all the stress and hustle and bustle all the time. And I have to say I couldn't have picked a better place to do that. All the rooms are facing the ocean which is only about 100m away. So you can fall asleep and wake up with the sound if the ocean. The meals in the cozy restaurant are superb and the service the best. Big thank you to Alexander and Jay who looked after me in the best possible way. The scenery of Punakaiki is one of my favorites. There is so much to see and to do you couldn't do it all if you would stay for a whole week Went back today to my stressful day to day life with a big smile on my face. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Disappointing

Reviewed By emmabM485CQ

We booked the superior one bedroom apartment for three nights. The location of the ‘resort’ is fantastic with an easy walk along the waterfront into town and the apartment was of a nice size. Unfortunately the great things stopped there. The bed was horrible and the two toppers that had been placed on top before being made did not help the cheap mattress that was rock hard. We went and purchased our own topper to try and help with our nights sleep and sore backs. When we arrived there had been painting done and the room stunk of paint fumes for the first night. The apartment was showing a lot of signs of wear and tear especially the carpets which had bare patches and rusted chair legs outside which didn’t look safe to sit on. Wouldn’t recommend the shower for anyone of a decent height. I would advise that there are many better places to stay in Whitianga within the same price range.

Not quite what we were expecting

Reviewed By Angela F

We booked this hotel due to its location with access to Marine Parade and local shops and restaurants/cafes. It also sells itself as a 4+* so was expecting great things. Unfortunately it did not live up to that expectation. The room was pretty small and the positioning of the bathroom mirror was bizarre making it impossible to look into it without squishing yourself against the door and benchtop. One of the wall lamps was loose with the bulb hanging from the wires and there was what looked like a blood stain on one of our bath towels. Not what we would expect from a hotel with such a high star rating. The one redeeming feature was the french door opening onto the rooftop balcony with views across to the Pacific Ocean. There are other hotels we would choose above this one in future.

Beautiful location, ordinary everything else

Reviewed By Aussie_Em998

The room was basic, but clean in a stunning location overlooking the lake. Biggest issue was the lack of servicing to the room. I understood there wouldnt be new sheets every day, but i stayed 5 nights and during that time no service was done to my room - so I had to ask for fresh towels after 2 days, and I had to run out of toilet paper to realise I also needed to ask for toilet paper. The bin was overflowing due to all the RAT tests we had to complete, and I wouldve expected every 2nd day some level of clean/check of the room for someone staying 5 nights. It felt very un-hotel like to run out of toilet paper, and to have to use a wet towel
