We went to the Black Monkey last Sunday afternoon our friends introduced us to Egga and Robert the owners and Chefs of the black monkey. What a magnificent location for a five star restaurant and boutique hotel. From the spicy martini, to the mojitos, the cold cervezas to the red wine, all while having a pre swim before dinner. I had the corned beef and cabbage with mashed potatoes and a tasty gravy.(Robert makes his corned beef) I also sampled the red snapper and lasagna. All meals very very good with exceptional presentation. Note save room for dessert as the key lime pie and cheesecake homemade by Egga is a must have. My husband, son, and I regularly visit here, and Dave is amazing. My son and I are vegetarians (pescatarian; seafood only, no meat). Dave has made a special vegetarian chili for us to try and offered vegetarian Thanksgiving plates which were beyond flavorful. The drinks are great, too, the music is classic rock mix and never too loud.We will continue to be patrons for a long time to come!We have visited for just appetizers, late-night snacks, lunch, and dinner. Always a pleasant experience!

Great place to socialize with expats. The fries are to die for! Visited here several times during our week long stay, and all of the food was top notch. Juliette(owner) and Sarah are awesome bartenders, and the service from all of the wait staff was great. An awesome place to socialize in San Juan del Sur with expats and tourists. Repeat scale: definitely!!

Not impressed! Waited quite awhile for service, and it was not friendly. Over charged for chairs. I'd recommend going next door to the hostel restaurant. They were cheaper and quite friendly!

Da surf spot is a cute little outdoor eating taco stand right on Santana beach within spitting distance from the Rancho Santana clubhouse. Simple tacos, smoothies, chips. Cheap breakfasts and a fun owner who aims to please. A great place to have a cold one after surfing or an Alt lunch or breakfast stop

A bar just off the beach. Friendly atmosphere and service. We had a very good lunchtime salad here. Looks quite busy in the evenings and seems to have regular DJ nights.Thank you so much for your kind words. We were just opening when you wrote this review, so we have grown so much since than. We look forward to seeing you again and being able to enjoy all the fun events we have here.

Some friends of our fished with the owners of this place and they cooked us up a spectacular meal with the fish they caught for a very reasonable price. They were great guys, friendly and very attentive. Would definitely go back!
