Reviews on Mexican food in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Playa del Carmen is one of the top diving destinations in the world, thanks to vibrant sea life and dazzling underwater caverns. On dry land, Playa is a hipper and more modern version of the fishing village it once was. Spend some quality time on the golf course or wave hello to the playful spider monkeys at The Jungle Place sanctuary. Explore the ancient ruins of the Coba Mayan Village, or get in some quality people-watching as you shop and stroll along 5th Avenue.

Mexican food
As soon as you walk up you are greeted by a friendly staff member. Sit in the open air or covered area. Fine dining options but great prices! Not your traditional Latin dishes. If you want to expand your palate, this is the place to try something new. Their passionfruit virgin margarita is so refreshing you'll have more than one. The owner makes the rounds introducing himself. Very sweet guy with your best interest at heart. Live relaxing music in the background, makes it easy to carry on a conversation.

The first burger bar in playa del carmen. The best gourmet burger, artesianal beer, cocktails and the best music. All in one place, two different atmosphers indoor garden and outdoor.
Ticks all the boxes. Beautifully set up restaurant, super helpful and friendly staff, big thanks to Darwin for your help guiding us through the menu and especially with the craft beers - massive selection! And most importantly, totally delicious burgers made with care. Fries are some of the best weâve had too, both regular and sweet potato. Good selection on the menu so plenty of reasons to come back and price is reasonable. One not to miss in Playa and thankfully well away from 5th Avenue and itâs overpriced food, some where we always try and avoid. 100% recommendation from us!

After a few days of resort restaurants, we finally got a chance to enjoy REAL Mexican cuisine! So tasty; but not hot peppery!AND real draft beer; not that crafty crap. They were so friendly; but not pushy.I enjoyed the burrito special; with salsa and guacamole on the side. It was two giants with beef, beans, rice and cheese, so be sure to be hungry or share. One lady was preparing the taco shells like she was an artist. Excellent! The tacos Tulum arrived in a martini glass with lots of sauce and sour cream. Daughter loved it!This was the best meal ever!

We went to several bars that we were not happy with before coming to el boticario. Daniela was our waitress and helped us right away. She was great. The drinks were great, her service was fast, and she was very nice and personable. We liked Daniela so much that we went back to this bar 4 more times on this trip.

The Mexican Experience is exactly that, an experience! The concept is simple; travelers from all over the world are united around a large communal table to enjoy a 5-course meal of exquisite Mexican cuisine, accompanied by a night-long open bar!
This was a very delightful way to spend the evening in Playa! We really had no idea what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised at how fun it was. Very interactive, so it's more like an experience rather than just food. Overall, it was extremely entertaining and eye-opening!

My husband and I had dinner here tonight. Super chill, laid back atmosphere! And Guillermo, our server, was beyond sweet! My husband had a burger which looked great and he said was really good. Beers were served in coozies and my mojito was delicious. I had the buffalo soldiers which were basically boneless chicken wings but so much better than we have in the states! They were literally hand cut chunks of chicken breast breaded and fried with a classic buffalo wing sauce. Soooo good! Just a short walk off 5th Ave. This American girl was super happy We will definitely go back!Thank you for your visit and your comments! We are happy to know that you had a good time at Zitla! We want to invite you to try our new breakfast menu!

As a curry lover, and having found an Indian restaurant in Playa del carmen, thought we were in for a treat. Sadly not.Itâs plus point; air conditioning, so the experience was very comfortable.Atmosphere was dead (we were the only people in the restaurant, but there until 9.30pm) Service was over attentive, but understandable as we were the only people there. In terms of food, starters were ok, we had samosas. We had three each - which were nice but too filling.Curries - my advice to the owners is get your labelling right (or your cooks to meet the description) There were four main curries (we tried three)Tikka masala - which wasnât chicken tikka masala (the sauce was maybe an attempt to achieve that, the chicken was a plain breast) but it was too hot and way too salty.Goan - which was creamy, and sweet described as mild. Lamb cook well it must be said.Vindaloo - not at all hot, not even madras hot and very salty. My observation here is that at an attempt at a high class establishment why advertise a vindaloo (when most curry eaters would avoid a vindaloo) Madras would have been a better description , even then it didnât hit the mark. All the chicken curries came with three massive pieces of chicken (I can only think they were trying to be generous) Rated 11 on tripadvisor - this was poor, and possibly the worst curry I have had gone or abroad. I can see they are trying, but they would do well to find a real Indian chef.We thank you for your constructive criticism Coxyjs, since it is part of the philosophy that we seek every day in It Guilty, take into account the comments of all our customers to always improve. We hope you visit us again and completely change your opinion.Your friends from It Guilty wishes you an excellent day.

Wife and I got excellent service and attention from Roberto and Mauricio. They were very kind, helpful and attentive with us. Food was excellent and the "Crepa con caramelo" was very good with it being made at the table.
