Reviewed By dinam172At first I thought why would this simple place be included into Lonely Planet guide. But then I realized why. This place has its own spirit of positive experience. The staff is more than friendly. We booked Whales watching, tour to Udawalawe National park and ride from there so as spa. I’d like to underline the trip to Udawalawe cuz we booked it quite late and Poppies manager did his best to organize it for us right away. It was an amazing experience. Location is so perfect, close to the road and grocery shop but distant from traffic noise. Visal is the nicest person!

Reviewed By dmatt87We had a lovely two nights at this hotel close to the beach in mirissa. Camil was very helpful as well with sorting out a previous hotels error. There is a great breakfast and helpful friendly staff. The rooms were nice and big and the air conditioning was good.

Reviewed By Trip389242The best place I had stayed at Sri-Lanka. Ideal for families and companies. We were 3 families with children and enjoyed staying in this place very much. big plus is cosy and safe territory inside where children can play. Also, for us Aurveda point inside was very good - we could have a massage without leaving children alone. Manager Laksman is very attentive, kind and responsive person and he even helped us to receive our forgotten staff when we were outside Mirissa. Rooms are clean and equipped with AC and fans, all worked good, comfortable beds. Location is very good, 2 minutes from beach. Highly recommend this place!

Reviewed By pigletandeeyoreWe stayed at the Calidan last week . Five of us in one room as we had children with us . Plenty of space , very clean and lovely balconies . And a five minute walk to a stunning beach ! The ever-smiling owner could not have been more accommodating and even arranged our marvellous whale-watching day.

Вай-фай,холодильник, посуда,горячая вода всё имеется. До пляжа буквально 5 минут, до центрального пляжа Mirissa beach минут 12. Мы брали байк, поэтому добирались быстро и без проблем. На территории иногда встречаются вараны, с комнаты на третьем этаже (есть небольшой балкон )открывается вид на красивую зеленую лужайку, где обычно гуляют павлины. Не забудьте про беруши, ночами слышны пения монахов.(по крайне мере,мне было слышно) На втором этаже есть прекрасный балкон, где бегают бурундучки. Нам всё понравилось! Спасибо Ироше за всё. Обязательно вернемся в 2019 году.

Ant nest and dirty cover
Reviewed By _J5996LVI booked this place. I came and went to the bath. There was a little hole and huge amount of ants got out from this hope . After all the cover was dirty. I said that I leave after 1 hour. But the owner ask me for pay 1 day. Don’t recommend this place. So bad

Reviewed By leonjefferyThis is a great place to stop if you find yourself in Marissa and a perfect venue to enjoy everything that Sri Lanka is all about. The family is very welcoming and extremely friendly and the room is very clean and homely with amazing WiFi and A/C. These poor guys are still suffering because of the whole Covid situation and if anyone needs support it’s these guys, if you are local. A friendly welcome awaits you when you arrive and the whole family is here to greet you and make you feel welcome. I highly recommend staying here if you are backpacking your way around Sri Lanka and you have your own beach or if you want to venture down the coast to the beautiful Marissa Beach it’s just 300 rupees

Reviewed By Anneke1502cheap and cheerful, lovely patio to sit in the shade and right across the rd from the beach. No air conditioning but the rooms are in the shade and you cannot beat the cost for what you get. If we come to Marissa again we will stay here.
