The Bonds

It is a resort hotel newly born in "Nakajima". "THE BONDS" means "edge" "bond". We are hoping to create a "place" connecting the faces born in the land named Nakajima to the people who we will meet. The origin of Bonds is guesthouse. In a typical guest house, there are no hospitality services, people who are familiar with the guest house are the main, and the first one is difficult to stay at many facilities. While incorporating the goodness of the guest house where it is not uncommon for customers to interact with each other, delicious rice such as an inn or hotel will come out, and I would like to aim for the style of a new accommodation where private and clean rooms are secured properly It is. The entire building is smoke-free.

Great for a romantic espace or for a sportive vacation

We had the room with a balcony facing the sea. Very nice, beautiful view. Plusses: + friendly hosts pick you up at the ferry and take you back there + dinner is not cheap but very nice - red snapper eaten three different ways and with lots of small side dishes + great beach with water that still comfortably warm for swimming at the end of October + bike rental reasonable and in good shape Minuses: - the island does not offer much except for a nice setting for all the triatholon sports, no other restaurants, shops, attractions - when we were there, there was quite a bit of trash & junk in the yard and in the immediate area on the promenade - that doesn't go with the ohterwise romantic ambiance and would have been not much of a thing for the hosts to take care of General tip: - avoid the high speed ferry, it's not that much faster, much uglier and twice as expensive - take note of ferry times, they are very limited during the non-rush hours

Guest House Wakabaya

"Guest House Wakabaya" is a Japanese style guest house opened in 2014 summer. It's located just 5 minutes walk from Hanazono station. You can choose a mixed dormitory or three private rooms. The bed in the dormitory has an outlet, small light, security box and curtain each. The private room is traditional with tatami, shoji and old fittings. The bathroom, kitchen and living room is common use.

Great hospitality and environment

The owner (Takeshi) and his family are amazing people and really made me feel welcome. He goes out of his way to make himself available if you ever need any help, or if you just want to talk. My room was nice and comfortable. The guesthouse is in a convenient location with easy access to transit.

Kawaramachi Domitory

At a place which is 2 minutes walk from Kotoden Kawaramachi station, a dormitory like a secret base was made. 5 years ago, I opened the chinese-tea cafe “ Choix Chinois” here, because I hoped to introduce chinese culture. I asked my husband , who is a furniture craftman, to renovate the building which used to be a warehouse. And now I refurbished it. On the second floor I made bunk beds so you can stay and I gathered water-using places at the half space of the first floor. I think this is a compact and functional dormitory. I hope that not only chinese but people around the world come and enjoy Kagawa to the full.

Great rest

Reviewed By injuredplatypus

Stylish small hostel with nice (and unique!) sized bunks. The bunk room looks like an architect from one of the artsy islands designed it. Cafe and lounge downstairs too. Close to the train station. If you’re staying here I recommend a trip to a really nice onsen if you’re interested. It’s called Busshozen.

Traditional Ryokan surrounded by towers

Reviewed By Christopher R

The staff in the hotel are friendly and helpful. The Ryokan is small. The rooms are spacious traditional Japanese rooms. Building has a lot of charm but the surroundings do not. There was currently demolition work around the hotel so it was not suitable to stay in between 8 and 6 any time, until sometime in May 2017. Breakfast is basic, serve and clear up yourself. Used public Onsen but there are facilities in house. Living room with TV if you want it.

Katsuo Guesthouse

designed with a different theme in mind, so you are guaranteed to have an interesting stay! The guesthouse has two sites: a Japanese-style wing and a Western-style wing. The Japanese wing was opened in 2012 as the first guesthouse in Kochi. The newly built Western wing is the product of a collaboration by several local designers and artists – now well-known for its large glass window of swimming Katsuo fish. The guesthouse’s owner “Maki-san” is very proud of the role that the Katsuo fish has had in Kochi’s history and is happy to share as Kochi’s informal ambassador!

Wow did we luck out. My daughters and I discovered Cinnamon House by chance and will never stay anywhere else in Matsuyama. Pristine, cool, laid back. Shimpei-san is cool with great English. He actually drove my car up the hill to the free parking so I would know how to find it later. This place is a gem, just steps from Dogo Onsen. Our 3-person traditional Japanese room was immaculate. Air-conditioned. The only drawback is that it's not wheelchair accessible. Guitar on site, kitchen / fridge / free coffee (make your own), tea, and biscuits. Free little shampoos and conditioners to bring to the onsen. In and out privileges all nite. Get here!

Run-down and mouldy, nothing like the picture! / 日本で一番感じ悪いゲストハウスだと思います... とにかく泊まらない方がいい‼

Reviewed By P_Poonnapa

I have been a frequent user of hostels in Japan and this is undeniably the WORST hostel I have ever stayed in my 10+ years experience of travelling in Japan. Normally, I have no qualms in staying in any hostel in Japan because no matter the price it would be hygenic. But this place!! It's unbelievable by Japanese standard and for its price. It costs me about 6000 yen per night while I usually can stay in a FAR BETTER place for half this price in Japan. The place is the most shamelessly rundown establishment I have ever come across in Japan. As soon as you step in, you can smell stuffy homes and moulds, reminding you of a council house of homeless people in 1950s England or worse. I bet this is a relic from the world war. They say it is 100+ year old but it is the worst kept old houses I have ever experienced in Japan. The common kitchen stinks as if some gutter rats have died. Their fridge is full of old and expired stuff. This is like nightmare incarnate. The bathroom is beyond salvation. It is very disgusting almost as if built in the 80s and left like that for a few decades. It was so disgusting but thank god it is in an onsen town so I can go and shower (very expensively) outside at other onsens and avoid the horror of their bathroom, The staff was nice but no different from any other hostels in Japan. Actually, it sort of borders on rudeness if I take into account the instance where I try to ask the staff if I can turn on the air conditioner in Japanese (I'm a proficient Japanese speaker) and he rudely spoke back in English assuming that I am Chinese or something. To make things worse, I was told that air conditioner can be used only after 7pm. If I want to use it before that , I have to pay 500 yen!!! And in the sweltering and humid hot of Japan August, this is not a joke. The only redeeming quality about this place is its location, being 2 minutes from the Dogo Onsen tram stop. Anyway, just DON'T stay here.

The staff person and owner were very available to help me with WiFi and getting settled. My bit server worked fine in all other places in Japan but not in their guest house. Also the bikes are terrible....despite being told that I could ride around the island ( even though the bikes were not electric) I in fact could not. I am a very experienced daily biker in London but those bikes were useless. V Rey v v heavy and I needed to walk them up to the museum despite being told I could ride anywhere on the island. They are heavy and a very strange design. Ditch the bikes and either get electric bikes or no bikes. Plus I had to pay for them. Also, pillows were extremely uncomfortable...large box shaped pillows that were very hard and high. Please get small soft pillows. Sheets and bedding otherwise perfect. Nice large rooms. No breakfast really to choose from except sliced white air bread. Loved location...but a bit overpriced for a dorm set up.

Great place to stay

Reviewed By 瑞彬 謝

It takes only two minutes to go to Kawaramachi station. The guest house is near the biggest and busy shopping area in Takamatsu. Besides, it offers comfortable environment of accommodation. It is definitely a good place to stay in Takamatsu. 來高松將近一個禮拜,Traditional House 十分便利,位在高松市中心的瓦町車站旁邊。Host人也非常Nice,英文日文皆可溝通 住宿環境也相當不錯
