Probably best known for its eponymous beer, Sapporo—the capital of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island—has maintained the youthful and open atmosphere of the 1972 Olympic Winter Games, drawing international visitors for its annual Snow Festival and its world-famous ramen. Those seeking out the full diversity of Japanese cuisine will want to visit: a city with a ramen-inspired theme park is one that embraces and pampers foodies.

The biggest, funniest and nicest local hostel in Hokkaido.
Room temperature was ok, but it could get pretty cold anywhere else. Except lounge on 10th floor, very nice. Breakfast is served on 3rd and so in that time you can you use the 10th floor, but there is no toaster, only a microwave. They could empty the trash more often and maybe put a small trashcan in the showerrooms. Only one elevator and stairs can only be used from 3rd floor down. Good location, especially for the snow&ice festivals. But also close to public transportation, convenience store. Friendly staff. Nice lounges. Beds pretty comfortable. Good size locker for valuables. Check in and out process quick and easy. English speaking staff and map/brochures available.

Athmosohere and employees are amazing. Stayed there for two weeks and was super happy. They were always ready to help. Hostel was also clean and tidy. There is also a pop up bar outside during summer and a terrace.

Michilo kept our luggage while we went to ski a short drive away. 10mins ?! We were entertained and given instructions of where for dinner etc. All the information. Friendly atmosphere where we get to meet the 2 cute twins and her teen daughter.

This will be my “go to” hostel when I come back to Sapporo. We are right in the middle of the action because it is located inside the Tanukikoji arcade. Once you get out of the hostel, turn right and it will lead you to the original Genghis Khan restaurant where it is cheaper to have your lamb meal instead of having it at Sapporo beer garden. A few steps and you have pole station where the underground walkway filled with shops leads you to sapporo and odori stations. A few minutes walk and you will be taken to susukino subway station where you can navigate your way around the city exploring odori park, tv tower, curb market. Another few steps and you will be taken to the Street Car stations where your unlimited Dosanko pass during weekends will take you around the city. There is a common kitchen where guests can lounge and cook. Standard room for 4 people is a bit small but it did not bother us. The japanese style room for 4 people is larger though, so I suggest getting the japanese room if you are a family

The most convenient and comfortable guest house in Sapporo. SappoLodge is based on a concept of a lodge in urban area. There is a bar full of the warmth of the wood on the first floor, so that all the guests can communicate with other guests and locals. The owner and all of the stuffs living in Sapporo can suggest you some good spots which are not put on a guide book. Plus you will get some exciting information from locals at the bar. We provide a bigger bed space than general guesthouses, so that we've got a lot of good reputation from guests with big baggage's who stayed here for a ski trip and those guests who came from other countries. As all the bedding are down-filled quilt made in Japan, we bet you will have a good-deep sleep. We have a lot of comfortable room. Men's dorm and Female's dorm is large type. Also mix dorm is standard type. Apart from that Japanese-style private room. This room can stay to 1-3 people/room. And private room with twin bed. This room can stay to 1-people/room. We hostel bath-room and shower-room is common. and we have common washstand too. You can choose the best room!! Plus it is 2 minutes walk from Hosui-Susukino subway station. There is also a convenience store located to the near distance of a 1-minute walk. From SappoLodge it is within walking distance to a lot of places. In addition, it is the best in the origin of the journey so close bus and train station.
Stayed here for 2 nights while exploring Sapporo. Lovely hostel with firm beds. Bar and restaurant serves great food and does stay lively until midnight most nights but they give free ear plugs. Recommended.

STAY&COFFEE in the first floor serves breakfast featuring the popular local cuisine. The check-in time is from 3 pm and the check-out time is until 11 am. Smoking is prohibited in the building except at the designated location in the hotel lobby. Parking space is available at 1000yen per night, but please inform us before your arrival since the space is limited.
I stayed here while visiting Sapporo for the Yuki Matsuri. The location was very convenient. Only a 5 minute walk to the nearest subway station, and only a 20 minute walk back from Susukino if you stay out drinking past last train. The hotel itself was very clean and I liked the unique interior decorating. There's a coffee shop on the first floor that does very good coffee and also Hokkaido craft beers. The fireplace on the first floor was a nice touch too. The Japanese jimbei pajamas provided during your stay were nice too.

One of the most conveniently hostels around Sapporo. Walking distance to transit stations, Odori park, Tanuki Koji shopping street, sapporo underground street and Nijo Market. Rooms are clean and security is good as card access is needed. Pretty cool that the reception area is separate from the main hostel. You need to exit the reception and us the elevator beside the main entrance to enter the rooms. Would prefer if shoe rack was provided outside rooms and only slippers allowed inside rooms for hygienic purposes. Breakfast provided was a simple affair.

I have stayed in many guesthouses and dormitories around Japan and honestly this is one of the best ever. Firstly, everything is spacious. Shower rooms were very spacious for a Japanese guesthouse, and the bed was so comfy and wide. There are also alot of free spaces for you to chill out, a lounge on the first floor, and many mirrors in the ladies powder room. Staff was also very friendly and accommodating. Also a stone's throw away from Nijo fish market (you can get delicious seafood there for breakfast) and a very short walk to Susukino area. If you are fine with walking about 20-30 mins, you can even walk to Sapporo station itself (I did and the distance was no problem, no stairs and just straight paths). Of course there were some down points but I guess this highly depends on who your room mates are. I will stay again if I am in Sapporo!

I have never met such a bunch of exceptional staff members! The people here really made our stay amazing, a few mins walk to multiple food places and convenience stores and not that far from the main malls above the station. The basic facilities were perfect and the beds some of the most comfortable of our stay. This is not a party hostel but the atomosphere set my the staff is bar none, we almost ditched our travel itinerary to hang around Sapporo much much longer :)
