First, there is free parking but it is in a designated parking lot the next block over. Be prepared to wait, especially during lunch. Non smoking but the smoking area is right in front of the door so you need to walk through a wall of waiting smokers. Not a huge restaurant, only two larger tables that can fit more than 4 peoples. Most are two seater tables. They ask you to order your meal while you wait for your seat so that food will arrive quickly when you finally get your table. Now, for the food. Pork cutlets were pretty good. Crispy crust on the outside, fried - how can things go wrong? Bottomless rice, cabbage salad and tea, you cannot leave the place hungry. Friends ordered the fried oysters, they were not impressed so stick with their speciality which is their pork cutlets. One side note, they have a traditional squat toilet. I don't do squat toilets so this may be an issue for some folks who are not used to such facilities.

This 3 Michelin star restaurant did not disappoint. Although Chef Hideaki Matsuo was away, he curated an "Autumn breaking into Winter" menu of 12 dishes. His wife played the consummate hostess ensuring that everything served was to perfection ---from the welcome sake to the ending Kashi (snow cake) In between we had many wonderful dishes Otsukuri (sea bream. tuna and squid) to Hassun ( mackerel-sushi with pickled turnip and roasted venison) and Yakimono (salted grilled yellowtail with sudachi citrus flavoured grated radish. All ingredients were fresh and locally sourced. The restaurant has 7 private dining rooms. Although the meal was served in a private room we were never neglected when it comes to service.

Located off the beaten path, the place was charming with friendly service despite limited englishVery good value as the restaurant combines tempura and kaiseki. We got sashimi, hassun (appetizer platter), soup, grilled fish with rice, 10 tempura items and dessert.Tempura was fried in cottonseed oil. Crispy on the outside but still showcased the natural quality of the ingredients

Food is spectacular . Very tasty and fresh. Have as much rice, cabbage or miso soup with the set menu for 300 yen extra.Try the sauces and grind your own sesame seeds, with the sauce of your preference. Staff are always friendly . The only reason i havent given this 5 stars is because there is no menu in english or at least with images to make it easier to understand. I know it makes a difference! But i can recommend the pork loin, the beef mince amd the prawns are huge!
