We ate here before and were unhappy with the service, food and price. Today we decided to give it another try, hoping things might’ve improved. They haven’t. When asking our server to replace 2 items on our breakfast with 1 extra item she responded with a huff. Then when I asked for my eggs to be poached I was told it was an extra euro for a poached egg! Never have I heard such nonsense. On principle I took the over cooked fried egg of which there was meant to be 2. The rest of the breakfast hovered around eatable. No brown bread option and no return service to the table. €17 for 2 brutal mini breakfasts. Rachel’s, you won’t see me again.

Very nice food in front of a roaring fire. Lovely atmosphete inside, really cosy. Service was really, really friendly and prompt.Decent menu too with a variety of soups, snacks, burgers, pastas etc. I had the burger and it was really delicious and accompanied by massive, thick fries.Prices are very reasonable too. Plenty of parking outside and it's right on the main Trim to Dublin road a few minutes outside Trim tlen. I've been meaning to call in for a while now as I'm often passing. Really glad I did and I'll be doing it again soon too!

I'm not quite sure why some of the previous reviews are so poor, while I wouldn't say the food was any better than average, I certainly world have no problem eating here again. Look, they won't be winning any Michelin stars or anything, but it's s perfectly good bar food; burgers, chicken gujons, chicken, fish and the like. It's a pub so obviously it has a full bar. Very friendly staff and I was served really promptly. Somewhere between three and four stars I'd say.

I've eaten in Trim Castle Hotel quite a few times over the years but this was my first nwal there in ages. I really enjoyed it. You can't beat the view looking out on the castle walls and the keep itself across the road.I had a very nice chichen dish with tasty roast potatoes and a generous helping of vegetables. Plenty of choice to be fair with the likes of beef, fish dishes, salads and pasta. The prices are okay I suppose for what you get but it's definitely not cheap. Very friendly service.Thank-you Bozeman for taking the time to review. We will take all of your comments on board. Please do visit again so, we will be changing our menu in September. Kind Regards TCH

We came to this place as a recommendation but we have been a bit disappointed. We ordered 1 prawns and clams started and to burgers. The starter was good. The burger had potential for more. Pro:Friendly staff and good food presentationCon:Interior of the restaurant. The red velvet seats and booths are not to everyone's taste. The burger had a good meat but the other ingredients did not balance on the burger. Good afternoon MattmanLondon,Thank you for your review. I am very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your burger as we strive to create the best homemade burgers in the area. If you are ever in the locality again please do call in and maybe try another one of our burgers, we have 9 on the menu :)Regards DevonAssistant Manager

We had a pleasant enough Saturday night meal here, but details let it down. chicken wings starter were tasty and generous. Scallops were a tease, with only 2 little scallops , and too much raw cauliflower. Beef cooked 3 ways was good, but needed a sauce. The room is spacious and lovely large tables add to the comfort. What really let it down was the service however. All the staff seemed rushed and distracted. The specials weren’t explained, finger bowl was forgotten, and plates were given to us without explanation. Being presented with an unsolicited dish can be delightful, but not when the server disappears as you ask what it is.... ‘the sorbet’ as she ran off. Still not sure what flavor it was. I’d be willing to try here again, as I feel perhaps they weren’t at their best this night. Hi Jcjc1994Thank-you for your very constructive review. We really appreciate all feedback & will work hard to make improvements to the areas you have highlighted. We look forward to your return visit & we will strive to ensure that it is more than pleasant.
