Beautifully presented, staff very friendly from start to end. Very noisy when the beautiful tea lounge gets filled with others. I suggest a room be kept just for afternoon teas and not big large tables of people as once they came into the room we Couldn't even hear each other talk.Slightly more samdwiches per person would be my suggestion as you're paying 26€ per person to eat 4 little sweets, a scone and a tiny piece of bread. It was all very tasty but a little more would have won is over

In a fine spacious eatery, carvery lunch is very popular. Divided into cosy dining areas, there are much dark wood features that are quite attractive.A good choice defines the carvery and we opted for the turkey and beef with lots of vegetables. Follow up was dessert comprising two cheesecake flavours. All very tasty.Staff were great, cheerful, jocular and attentive. On the walls inspiring aphorisms are to cogitated on. All things considered it was a grand break.

First visit here for drinks & it’s a lovely little find. Slightly off the beaten track but well worth it. Car park located just opposite the bar. Bar was still fully decorated with Christmas dec. Bar accepts cash only, no cards accepted. Music session started & all musicians were so talented. Illen pipes, guitars & tin whistle, a lovely session of traditional Irish music along with some regulars taking to the mic throwing out songs from The Corona’s. Staff were very friendly & chatty. A lovely atmosphere & will certainly return.

They offer a good choice of meals, sandwiches and snacks. Tea coffee and alcoholic beverages are available. It’s a good place to visit for food.

Stopped for a lunch and I went for Fish & Chips. It’s one of my favourite dishes so I was very confident that I was in for a treat with Wrights Anglers Rest. When the dish arrived I was still pretty confident. The beer batter looked nice and crunchy. Unfortunately when I cut into it I realised that the end piece had a very thin layer of very dry, stringy fish. I was still hopeful that this was possibly just the end piece and I would find better as I moved along the fillet. Not so, the entire piece of fish was a uniform thickness or probably I should say thinness. It was about 5mm thick and seemed to come from the belly flank of a large Cod or Hake (I couldn’t be sure of the species). It tasted like a poorly rehydrated salted or dried stockfish. It came with an oyster shell portion of tartar sauce, crushed peas and a portion of chips all got €17.95. I was in a rush so I went ahead and ate what was edible. I mentioned my disappointment to the waitress and she was polite and apologetic and offered a coffee on the house.I hope the chef and whoever is responsible for purchasing take note, and have another look at the quality of the ingredients or perhaps the use of this product in a Fish & chips dish.Firstly thank you for your comments & please accept my sincere apologies that your meal was disappointing. As one of Dublins business restaurants we have relied on repeat customers along with recommendation to grow our business so successfully as we are off the beaten track. I can assure you that this is not the norm & Im sorry you didn't bring it to the attention of one of our staff members straight away so we could have replaced the dish for you. As part of the Wright group we pride ourselves in being able to offer our customers some of the very best seafood available. I have passed your comments on to our head chef & general manager to look into. Thank you once again for your feedback & I do hope that you will visit us again so that we can prove your experience is not the norm. Id love if you contact me directly if you choose to visit us again. Kind Regards, Jennie Grogan, [email protected]

Went on a return visit to Rudy’s this evening for my wife’s birthday.Had a lovely Romanian Pinot Noir which was a little unconventional but on recommendation did not disappoint.Had the wings to start- delicious. Piping hot, lovely flavour. Two steaks for mains, mine medium, wife’s medium rare- both cooked to perfection!Dessert was hard to fit in (!) but we had the sticky toffee which again was delicious.Service was attentive but not overbearing, ambience nice and busy but not too loud.I really don’t have anything negative at all to say about this place and would highly recommend it. It was very reasonable and they clearly know what they are doing. I wish there was more of this in blanch. We will be back!
