Always loved this restaurant, cheap and cheerful and food normally very tasty, so went there for a meal last week with 2 friends before going to the local theatre, Draiocht, to see a play. The play was due to start at 8.15 so we arrived for our meal at 6.45 to allow plenty of time. First disappointment - 2 of my favourite dishes were no longer on the menu. Anyhow, we ordered 2 starters and 3 mains. At 7.40 our starters had still not arrived, although we had let it be known, we were going to the theatre, as were other diners. Having queried the delay a couple of times we had to cancel the starters and ask them to bring the mains. These were still slow in coming and we were just about to leave and go to the nearest burger joint when they finally arrived. Unfortunately, they weren't worth waiting for as 2 of them were bland and tasteless - couldn't believe it. We spoke to the supervisor who was very pleasant and did apologise but it was a disaster. so bad in fact that we weren't charged for the food just the bottle of wine we drank. Not sure if I will risk going back, thankfully the play was brilliant!

We ordered soup and some extra bread on the Bank Holiday Monday. The bread was freezing and the butter was rock hard. The soup took a half an hour to come out. If it was particularly busy I would understand but we were one of the first people in the restaurant. It was obvious the soup order was forgotten, again if it was busy I would understand. My partner ordered a coffee and he received a cup only half full. I ordered a lucozade and sparkling water which both took an unusually long time to come out. We were just about to leave because we were waiting so long for the soup when the waiter came over to tell us they were just heating up the soup. When the soup came out it was lukewarm. Although the decor and fire were lovely which is why I chose 'poor' and not 'terrible'. There was also no acknowledgement for the length of time it took to heat up two bowls of soup. I never thought I would have this much drama ordering some soup and bread. I had heard good things about the restaurant and was very disappointed in the service and food. I don't think I will be making the journey back.

Maximilians Bistro & Wine Bar

Delicious food served in salubrious surrounds with live music on weekends

Reviewed By carooolz - Sydney, Australia

Located on the floor above Supervalu, we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. We had a birthday dinner for a group of 6 (there is a 10% service charge for group of 6 or more). Service was very good and good served quickly. We had buffalo chicken wings for starters and while it was not hot and sour, the 6wings tasted really nice with some aioli. The only thing I didn't really like was complimentary garlic bread as it was served cold, but that's because I think it would taste better warm. For mains we had black spaghetti (from squid ink) and mixed seafood, and spaghetti alle vongole. Both were huge servings with plenty seafood and a befitting wine sauce. Not at all like those restaurants that serves loads of pasta and cut back on the seafood. With mains costing less than €20 each, and also cutting and serving the birthday cake for us, this is a restaurant that provides superb food and service at very reasonable prices. Make sure you go hungry.

I spent two hours in Brownes Steakhouse yesterday evening. Restaurant is cosy, clean, there is enough room between tables. I ordered steak on stone (20 Euro deal with glass of wine). Staff was busy but friendly. waitress brought steak on hot stone, meat was good quality. Chunky chips were just chunky chips. There were few things to improve - beer,,,no Guinness in Dublin restaurant ??!, spices - I don't think that for this kind of restaurant buying hand grinders for FRESH pepper should be a problem, pepper I found on my table was old without aroma. Garlic butter was great. Steaks were without sauces at first and we had to wait for few minutes meat sizzling on stone.
Steaks were very good, great food experience, I will be back for sure to check their turf and surf. and yes, I recommend this restaurant and its nice atmosphere.

The Bell Pub

Great Irish pub with huge portions of traditional Irish food, with a daily special. A half portion of a full roast beef dinner including two types of potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and a vegetable medley for under 7 Euro. Very tasty and great atmosphere in a local pub.

Dinner for 6. Large place. Appropriate, nice décor for an old pub, but airy. Good servers--friendly, helpful. All had fish & chips--most of us thought it was very good, but 1 didn't. Big beer selection. I'd go again.

Wagamama

The wagamama story our story began in 1992, when we opened our first restaurant in bloomsbury, london. We wanted wagamama to offer the kind of fresh, fast food and relaxed atmosphere you get in japanese noodle bars. We've gradually grown into a much-loved family of restaurants that spans 17 countries our dublin's city centre restaurant opened it's doors in 1998, being the first wagamama franchise in the world. After several years we decided to spread our wings down south to cork city in 2005 and further again in 2010 to up north to Belfast and back down to dublin's Blanchardstown. Finally in july 2011 our fifth wagamama opened in Dundrum shopping centre

Sadly, this is where the praise stops. The food was disappointing. When we eat out we...Morehi irene awww, what a shame you didn't enjoy our tuna steak as it is one of our most popular dishes.. i really do hope you give us a second chance and im sure we will impress you regards danny peacock general manager

Needed somewhere handy for lunch today as we needed to pick up our eldest Grandson from school at 2.40pm. Decided to visit Bradys as it's ten minutes to the school and the food is always good and the staff are excellent plus there is plenty of parking which is a plus when you need a wide space to open doors fully to get children out of child seats.
We had sandwiches and tea, most of the sandwiches are served with chips and salad. Their Turkey, ham and stuffing Sandwich is fabulous.
It a pleasant spot for lunch, it's good quality and value. Well worth a visit.

This restaurant is attractively and uniquely decorated, however, the menu is limited in that they offer mostly roasted or grilled chicken and unusual sides such as a super grain salad (small but expensive), very spicy rice, etc. I had difficulty finding what I really liked and would only eat there again if my friends insisted. I don’t particularly care for it although I will say that the chicken is good. It is rather pricey, and individual sides are small but cost around €4.00 each. A small piece of chicken plus two small sides cost around €9.00. I have eaten there twice and both times left hungry and unsatisfied.

My wife, daughter and I had lunch here on Saturday after shopping for a few hours in the Blanchardstown shopping centre. The bar is comfortable and was great after spending a few hours walking and browsing through the shops. We had lunch which was very nice. The food was fresh and hot. My wife had the spicy beef noodles (although her dish was very tasty, the beef was very very tough). Our daughter had chicken wings which were delicious and I had the toasted club Sandwich which was very good. The bar was not that busy, service was a little slow, we had to ask for a menu and call a waiter to order food and call again to order a few drinks. However, we did enjoy our experience and the food was tasty and good value.

Cottage Cafe Brigids Centre

Reviewed By SarkaCZ - Dublin, Ireland

Used to go here since it first opened. Staff were always generally very polite and the food was always good. I always enjoyed trying their home-made speciality dishes from their own cuisine.
But last time we visited we sat outside for a change and there also were two staff members sitting outside chatting at an adjacent table. Perhaps they were on a break.
We sat there, and sat there, and sat there, until about 20 minutes passed by without anyone coming out to even hand us a menu. You would expect someone to come out as it was a fairly warm day too (we never sit outside unless it is really warm!).
What was even more annoying was that even if those two staff members were on their break, you would have thought after seeing us sit there for that long that at least one of them would have got up and gone inside either to (a) get us a menu or (b) inform whoever was working currently to come outside as there were customers waiting.
Sorry but we don't need to be treated that way and if a business doesn't want our custom then that's not a problem to us, we won't go back.
