Punta del Diablo is a village and seaside locality in Uruguay, Rocha Department, 298 kilometres (185 mi) east from the capital Montevideo. According to the 2004 census, its permanent population consisted of 389 inhabitants, mostly fishermen and artisans, while during high tourism season, the population swells to approximately 25,000, mostly with Argentinians, Brazilians and Europeans on holiday. As with the country it is located in, the primary language spoken in Punta del Diablo is Spanish. In 2008 it was named by the magazine "Lonely Planet" as one of the top 20 places to visit and invest.

La hosterÃa del Pescador sigue siendo una muy buena opción en Punta del Diablo, como alojamiento y como restaurant.Eso si esta lejos de todo el movimiento de Punta del Diablo, desde mi punto de vista hay que tener auto para estar acá.Vale la pena es tranquilo, hay una buena calidad de descanso, la atención es buena.Las instalaciones son aceptables aunque el mobiliario es de la época en que se hizo el HosterÃa.Vale la pena.... los precios bueno en temporada es asi.... pero responde a la realidad de toda la costa que esta recuperándose de las malas temporadas anteriores.El Restaurant tiene una carta con opciones validas para todos, los precios en la generalidad de lo que hable y la atención buena, la comida sabrosa.

Siamo stati a cena. Il proprietario simpatico e molto cordiale. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo, prezzi buoni per la qualità dei prodotti. Hey guys, if you open a restaurant you should know how to cook. If cooking means that you only fry things...that's strange. It's not so hard to prepare decent food. Only fried calamari were ok. Sorry - big dislike!! Folks, don't go.

The restaurant is at a point with many huge rocks so the view and sounds of waves coming in are super relaxing. We got the veggie tacos (we are vegan, and they were great) and some caipirinhas. Live music occasionally also. Important: they only take cash or Visa debit.

Ended up here after an asado at a hostel and ordered a jug of sangria. There were some super strength red chilis on the bar which I immediately regretted eating, although it was very funny. People brought their guitars and were singing outside. Great placeHi, I am sorry about those chilis, you must have managed to get the only hot ones we managed to find in all of Punta :)) not an easy undertaking trying to buy chilis in Punta, I can tell you! First night went to Il Tano, second to Franca. Both worth going to. Excellent ceviche to start. Had the corvina as a main - very good. Staff advised us that the other fish not that good that day. Seafood risotto excellent. Very helpful staff who have good English.

We arrived at Il Tano full of expectations and we left pretty happy for the experience. The dishes are fresh, with nice combinations of flavours and they're well presented. The shrimp appetizer, the black cod and the seafood pasta were our favorites. 4 stars just cause they didn't have the wine we wanted (the owner suggested us a couple of good alternatives), and for the bill..

Looking for fresh seafood, but cooked perfectly (not too much batter, right amount of seasoning), reasonable prices, friendly and efficient service, lovely atmosphere, cheesecake to die for (homemade strawberry jelly that isn't sugary but complemented the creamy cheese and buttery base)... ? We had the calamari which was superb, and the paella.. loved it! Highly recommended!Thank you so much for the review! It was lovely to meet you. Have a really nice trip!
