GOOD VALUE, MEDIOCRE STAFF
Reviewed By Masako TThe hotel had many Asian tourists from other countries. The check-in was okay, but they forgot to give us a few things for the hot springs for the kids. So I had to call them about that. Some staff was nice than the others, but overall, it was mediocre. Some young front staff need better training for friendlier service. Smiles go a long way, even if you do not speak English. The bath was good, but they only open until 9am. They have free ramen noodle service at night after 9:30pm, and it is first come first serve basis. The noodles were okay since it was free, but the portion was small. It is okay to stay here for a couple of nights, the location is pretty good, and the view is also good. I only wish the staff was better here.

Reviewed By Mimes27My father fell and injured his leg. The staff were very helpful and had a wheelchair he could use during our stay. When we were unable to get into the hotel restaurant due to reserved parties, they called to find a take out sushi place (very unusual for Japan) and gave us a map to get there. The restaurants and views were beautiful.

Reviewed By Jaime KStayed here for 3 nights and breakfast provided. Breakfast is yummy and the hotel location is very convenient and near to restaurants. Just a 10mins walk to the supermarket and Daiso. Also a 8-10mins walk to yudaonsen stn. So so convenient. We rented a bicycle there, abt 1000 yen a day at their tourist information centre and there also provide public foot onsen. Overall stay is ok just that staying too long at Yudaonsen is abit too boring bcus nothing much you can do there.

Reviewed By LThangComfort Hotel Yamaguchi is convenient for someone who likes to stay close to the Shin Yamaguchi station to catch shinkansen or the local trains. It is just outside the North exit, and has plenty of eating places around it. The hotel is a typical business hotel in that it is very compact. But it is also more than typical, with modern room that is clean, well lighted and provides good service. The wifi is free and strong. Te hotel provides simple breakfast in buffet style. I always have good impressions of comfort hotels, and this one did not disappoint at all.

Reviewed By Mimes27Don't need to bother getting out of room for the best food. Rooms are small and beds are low to the ground so not so good for the elderly. Close to train station. Make sure to walk left on surface when leaving train station, otherwise lots of stairs to go down and up to cross the street underground.

We Hagi Royal Intelligent Hotel is located next to JR Sanin-Line Higashi-Hagi Station. Complimentary breakfast is available. Rooms have free Wi-Fi and are equipped with TV, air-conditioner, bathroom, towel, brush and a hair dryer. Restaurants are within 15-minute walking distance. We are a great choice for travelers and are looking forward to having you!
A very poor hotel in a beautiful town
Reviewed By GeoffC46Unless one is staying in a ryokan it is hard to find a good hotel in Hagi, especially for western visitors. But the Royal Intelligent is very poor indeed. No welcome on arrival, just a reading out of the hotel rules. One of which is that if you want your room to be serviced then you must not return between 10.00 and 16.00. We chose not to have it serviced but the hotel is not a hostel and is charging mid-range prices. The room was very small but we didn’t expect more. The bath towel was tiny. And, worst of all, the bathroom and the room smelled of drains except immediately after one had showered. I’ve no problem that the breakfast was Japanese but the ingredients were of very poor quality and by 8.30 were not being replenished because breakfast ended at 9.00 and everything was immediately cleared away. Hagi is wonderful and we’re so pleased that we went. It is a must to visit even if the travel requires several changes of train, but maybe that Is one reason why Hagi is such a jewel because the tourists who were there were not numerous and were overwhelmingly Japanese. The Uragami Museum is superb, the merchant and samurai quarters beautiful to wander round, the Shoin-Jinja shrine and the Toko-ji tombs hauntingly lovely in very different ways, and we ate brilliantly in local izakayas (Maru is strongly recommended including the tasting tray of six local sakes which at 1200 yen was a bargain). So, don’t be put off Hagi which is wonderful. But the Royal Intelligent is a terrible hotel and to be avoided.

We opened uzuhouse in August, 2016. We're in front of Akama-Jingu Shrine and there is Kanmon Straits right behind the building, so you can enjoy the amazing view. We have great historical spots, delicious local food and unique people around the city. Explore Shimonoseki city from here!
Fantastic value, mesmerizing view

The room I stayed was tatami mat Japanese room which is spartan but spacious with a view overlooking Akama shrine which has long history and many interesting stories. The most memorable part of the hotel is the roof top area complete with seating that is right on the waterfront of the Kanmon Straight. Get som drinks annoy some time watching boats pass through the narrow straights right in front of your eyes, the bridge which straddles the straights connects Honshu and Kyushu and is one the great vistas that can be seen in Japan for only about $100 a night. Convenient habourside walk to Central Shimonoseki, Uzu House can’t be beaten for value or the experience that you will enjoy.

Reviewed By kibiboThe hotel is located close to the Shinkansen Shinyamaguchi station. The staffs were very attentive staffs. However, the bed was incredibly hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom is very small as well. The breakfast is very basic but it is free for all guests.

Boring place
Reviewed By leal443At first, my family and I were so excited to have a little getaway in this hotel because of the beautiful beach and they both have indoor and outdoor pool as advertised . So we decided to get the fancy room ($200.00 per night) because we wanted to just relax in the hotel and enjoy there amenities. When we finally arrived there we were told that both pools are only open during the summer. Therefore, our only option is to swim at the beach which was freezing cold! The place is sooo dead and there is no nearby family store and recreation. Lesson learned, don’t be deceive by there pictures because they give false advertisement.
