Das Hotel Katamaran wurde am 12. Mai 2017 eröffnet. Moderne Architektur im Stile einer Yacht sorgt für die ersehnte Wohlfühlatmosphäre! Die traumhafte Lage am Schilfgürtel, sehr nahe an der herrlichen Altstadt von Rust, mit unter Denkmalschutz stehenden Gebäuden, bietet den idealen Ausgangspunkt für erholsame Tage am Neusiedlersee. In Gehnähe befindet sich ebenfalls das Seebad Rust mit seinem Strandbad, dem Yachthafen und dem Seerestaurant Katamaran.

For almost 100 years, this listed house has been functioning as hotel and inn. 2012 the owner Barbara Schandl and Alfred Grasits have modernized the building in a very sympathetic way; they have preserved old structures and harmonically combined them with new ones: now elegant fabrics, earthy colors and natural materials provide just as well for your wellbeing as the sumptuous breakfast service and the home-made wine do. The breakfast and guest terrace directly faces the town hall square in the centre of the historic old town of Rust at Lake Neusiedl.

Reviewed By Thomas FThe hotel is located in the center of Rust. An original town house has been renovated by the owner family with a lot of love and taste. This gives you the opportunity to stay with all comfort and tradition at the same time. You will be served an excellent breakfast with local food, not in the common buffet style. You will like it, giving you more time with your loved ones. Around the hotel, within five minutes of walk, you will find several local restaurants and wine bars. The owner family also does have a wine yard and a wine bar serving a good variety of slow food and the wine from their own Vineyard. From the location of the hotel you can do sightseeing, bicycling, sailing, bird watching... Ask the owner, he does have plenty of ideas and advise. All together this was an unforgettable stay for us. We hope to return soon.

The arrangement is completely defined on the classification of " Boutique " . I had the pleasure to be hosted by the lady who owns and manages this hotel. It was a great pleasure to meet her and to listen the story of this boutique hotel . I slept extremely well , it is a very quiet place . Breakfast is very rich and well presented . Many dishes are homemade I recommend you not come alone to this hotel ( as I arrived ) . It's a shame not to share with pleasure who stay here !

Of course after a day of cycling around the beautiful Neusiedler lake. Pension owner Pavol Kral and his family are present to serve you outstanding bio breakfast in the morning and guide you through the wine choices in the evening. Needless to say, the wines are his own.

Reviewed By winetraveller01We had a great stay at this nice and quiet little B&B. The rather large rooms are very nicely decorated and in perfect shape. Great beds, very good shower, and nice little balcony connected to the upstairs room we had. Also very handy with a small safe in the room. The helpful and friendly owners serve a delicious breakfast with a good selection of fresh products. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Many of the local wine producers also have their tasting rooms in town, which makes a stop over in Rust very convenient. For runners there are also many quiet streets and trails were you can enjoy the views of beautiful vineyards. This place can really be recommended.

Our first stop upon arriving in Rust was the Hotel Sifkovits. Our first impression of the hotel and management was very positive. We had a delightful conversation with the manager over wine and followed his recommendation for dining that evening. Our room was pleasant, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was wonderful. The hotel is within a very easy walk to the old city center of Rust and the lake. We wish we had more time to spend in Rust and the surrounding area but we needed to move on. We stayed at Hotel Sifkovits in late September a truly wonderful time of the year to visit.

Avoid at all costs
Reviewed By SandrapragueWanted to stay at this pension for whole week with family, 2 adults and 2 kids. This worn down pension that charges like a five star hotel is trying to be a nostalgic place with kitch East German decoration such as old tiled bathroom, and it looked like from 70s Eastern European bad road movie. Tiny rooms with tiny shower/toilet The swimming pool occupied by other guests drinking from wine GLASSES, so not safe for kids, cannot complain to anybody as reception closed from 4pm. Not to mention the pension is next to a busy incoming road into Rust, so probably in the night you cannot open doors to rusty balconies due to road noise. We have not spend there not even one night. Tried to liase with the owners about the cost, but fat chance, They charged us for full week for two rooms including breakfast. We love Austria, but this b&b is a disgrace to this beautiful hospitable region of Burgenland. Even Basil Fawlty from Fawlty Towers would be proud of this place...

Reviewed By A ALocated at market square. And the square is lovely. We took apartament with 2 sleeping rooms and small kitchen. The apartament could be a bit modern, but is ok. It is a bit noisy as there is a fountain outside. The keys must be collacted in other hotel. At the same place you will have a breakfast. And it is serviced fabulous stuff-home made fresh fruit drinks, local chees and ham, fruits (it is semi meditarian climate, so you can expect the best things), home made marmolade,
