Top 10 hotels in Rabat, Morocco

August 11, 2022 Hana Mouser

Morocco's coastal capital since 1912, Rabat has just over a million people. Modern and even reserved by Moroccan standards, the city also has many fascinating historic sites, including the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas, built in the mid-12th century. The unique Hassan Tower, begun at the end of the 12th century, was meant to have the world's largest minaret, but was never completed. Just opposite the tower lies the 20th-century Mausoleum of Mohammed V, another of the city's main attractions.

Well positioned Riad and good value for money

Spacious room in a Riad well situated to visit the medina. Simple, clean and well equipped with toiletries. Our only disappointment was the poor recommendation of ‘Dar Naji’ for dinner, a local restaurant whose details they have registered in QR codes dotted around the Riad. We would recommend avoiding this restaurant for anything other than the staple fresh orange juice and mint tea, and rather follow the well researched Lonely Planet recommendations for food.

Beautiful Riad in Beautiful City

Reviewed By gdbarnes

A elegantly designed, smartly organized, well run and perfectly located riad with a gracious and smartly attentive staff. We had a chance to meet and chat at length with the owner, Ali Chraibi, who generously lavishes his love of art and graceful living on his riad. He is proud of his creation and we were more pleased & happy to reside there than as any other riad, hotel or Airbnb my wife and I have ever stayed at. And the city of Rabat itself was a great discovery, fascinating and beautiful. We can't recommend this riad and this city more!

Overrated and bad service

We booked 4 deluxe rooms. When arriving hotel we were the only guest but still check in took 20 minutes. The rooms were nice but could be in better condition including cleaning. Only 1 small water bottle( very unusual for Morocco) No coffee ,no Tea( cattle and coffee maker were in the room)When I asked for coffee or tea and water, I was told that this is on extra charge. No shower cap,no laundry bag ,no pencil. Next morning next unpleasant meeting. It took us about 40 minutes and around 12 requests to receive coffee and tea.For the bread someone ales got angry and not me.The same for receiving a Yogurt or a spoon. When we asked to complain and to receive a compensation only after our persistence and not relinquish they sad we could have dinner on there account in the hotel. We didn’t took the dinner because we thought that this is almost an insolence and not dealing with the problem. If you like to bee a 3 star Hotel no problem but than don’t take price’s like a 5 star hotel. Also when we left no one thought to apologize or say goodbye.

I stayed for 2 weeks in Le Pietri, and was very impressed. I had a suite room, which was huge, with a big outdoor terrace. The room was clean, modern and stylish. It was quiet in terms of no outside noise (although you could hear alot of noise from the corridor, inside, whenever anyone opened or closed their doors). The restaurant and breakfast was good. The staff were really friendly and helpful. And the location is excellent - close to the Medina and the city centre, with pleasant walking and lots of good restaurants nearby. I'd definitely choose Le Pietri next time I visit Rabat.
