My wife and I had such a great experience complete with a nice morning views, supremely friendly and cordial staff (Esmeralda, Lucio), rooms, meals. Owner ( sr. Pallares) was always checking to ensure we had a nice stay and helped to coordinate a hike to Quitoloma Archeological site, which is run by their own community (Chumillos). We had an informative and fascinating tour of the hacienda, which was owned by the Jesuits and later became a family hacienda. Love all details of this place.

Amazing historic hacienda
Reviewed By Inga_K_KThe hacienda is an exceptional place - there is an amazing feeling of the history dating back to 16 century and forward, and just of a peaceful retreat. It has an authentic feeling - it may not be polished to perfection and in places the tooth of time has taken its toll, but for me it only adds to the atmosphere. For people who expect sybaritic luxury, there are places that provide that, albeit at 10X the price. As it is, the bed was perfectly comfortable and warm, but there was a little damp smell in the room and it's not necessarily very warm itself, the shower is simple but does its business and has good hot water. But it feels like it might have in the centuries past, apart from the indoor plumbing! The favorite things - the beautiful buildings to admire, the fireplace (there is enough wood to last 2-3 hours, I love feeding fire and luxuring in front of it), the garden with flowering trees attended by hummingbirds, the little creepy / atmospheric details such as the playhouse and some human remains in the church, the starry night, the animals. The place would make a perfect setting for a ghosts (none to report though) but also absolutely idyllic. Not favorite things - while I love that the horses move freely around the property, it might be possible not to leave their droppings just lying around (and I don't mean in the pasture). Quoting prices without including IVA - the final price for food turns out a bit expensive for Ecuadorian standards, and the portions aren't that big either.

The place could have been a gem but completely lacks of any style and only has the very basic. The food was good but this is all I can say about this place. The worst part when I was charged a crazy "service tax" and ended up paying a lot, much more than I paid in other luxurious places in Ecuador. I totally do not recommend it. Cayambe is not a vacation destination so If you really do not need to stay in Cayambe city, It is worth the trip to go further north to Otavalo. plenty of nice places there.

Reviewed By alejandrabI6758FOThis weekend I visited a friend and stayed at this hotel, I can say that it was pleasant and quiet, I can’t swim that day, because it was cold, but the food and kindness of the workers made me feel very good. I called my friend and invited her to eat with me, her mother allowed her to come but she must return later by the house.

Reviewed By Brian LThis is one of the best places we've stayed in 65 days of travel! The room was very large, with windows overlooking the street. It was well lit, and very comfortable and clean. The hot water worked every time, Wi-Fi in room, very friendly and helpful staff, and a lower price than any other listing. One disadvantage: they have to unlock the door for you to exit the hotel. This is somewhat of an inconvenience, and could be a fire hazard (all the fire hazard signs direct you to this locked front door)!

Reviewed By mateojossuevargasEl hotel es muy cómodo pero hay algunos detalles que podrían mejorar, como la humedad en las habitaciones, estar más atentos de los huéspedes y sus necesidades y el servicio al cliente ya que la actitud de los anfitriones no es la mejor, de ahí por lo demás es un lugar céntrico que conecta con buenos restaurantes.
