Menu had a large selection of local regional food and it was excellent quality, we were so impressed that we returned the following evening

Reviewed By Alice BWe were 2 couples and had booked 3 nights with half pension. Got 2 very good rooms in the main building on the first floor. 2 big an d comfortable rooms. One of them "the oval room" with windows facing the street. Had 3 courses meal in the evening and one could choose different main courses. Good well prepared german food. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Reviewed By V6877YJchristiansWir waren als Wandergruppe mit 12 Leuten zwischen 50 und 60 Jahren für drei Übernachtungen hier. Sehr freundlich familiär geführtes Hotel mit Charme aus den 70igern. Gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis...Frühstück ist gut....Sehr viel Bioprodukte, größte Rücksicht auf Allergien bei Nahrungsmitteln, gute Betten, leider ist bei den sanitären Einrichtungen (WC und Dusche) noch Handlungsbedarf....schwergängige Wasserhähne, geringer Wasserdruck, riechendes WC. Das Abendessen war ebenfalls gut, es wurde leider nur ein Gericht angeboten...

Reviewed By Edith1972We werden vriendelijk ontvangen door Marlies. Koffie, even kennismaken en een korte rondleiding. Heel gastvrij. Je voelt je meteen welkom! We hebben een kleine week in kamer 7/8 gezeten. Een slaapkamer met douche en wc en een woonkamer. Je kunt er niet koken, maar thee en koffie zetten is mogelijk. De bedden lagen prima en het was heerlijk stil. Het ontbijt was meer dan prima. Marlies en Jan doen er echt alles aan om je verblijf zo fijn mogelijk te maken. Op vrij- zo is het café open. Jan bakt dan de heerlijkste taarten. Proef zeker de kruisbessentaart! Te lekker! Parkeren is geen probleem en de motor mocht in de garagebox staan. In het dorp diverse eetgelegenheden. Houd rekening met rustdagen (ma /di)! We hebben genoten en komen zeker nog eens terug. Dank voor alle lieve en goede zorgen Marlies en Jan en tot de volgende keer!

B&B Orchidee is a small comfortable Bed and Breakfast in Altenau in the Harz in Germany. The B&B is housed in a hotel from the sixties. Every room has its own private bathroom, small but clean.The atmosphere is casual. We want to make our guests feel comfortable and at ease. The B&B is dogfriendly.
Cosy and tranquil
Reviewed By isabellanicole2016We spent three nights at Orchidee. Our room was on the third floor and we had a stunning view of the surroundings which put me in total relax mode. I could stare for quite some time through the window at the forest nearby or watch the snowflakes fall with a steaming cup of coffee from my room. The room was comfortable with plenty of heating options such as heating panels and electric blankets on our beds. There was always a log on the fireplace which kept everything warm and cosy downstairs. The hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and very hospitable. Breakfast was quite a selection and tasty. The walk to the nature park is not too far from the B&B and the signage that the park provided, was very organised as to which route to take. There are quite a few restaurants a few minutes away which are also very value for money.

Reviewed By salmazeinelVilla Kassandra ist eine gemütliche Pension mit viel Platz draußen und gemütlichen Gemeinschaftsräumen. Bequeme Betten sorgen für guten Schlaf. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Die Pension liegt am Rand des Ortskerns. Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind fußläufig erreichbar. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen im Westharz.

why is it excellent?
Reviewed By domnicac590First of all is excellent because, I appreciated the family atmosphere of this hotel! Although I got up late after breakfast time, I was allowed to go into the restaurant and make a coffee and I would like to mention that I traveled a lot, and not even in the 5 * hotel I could not get a free coffee, but here you can always have coffee or a cappuccino, and a big plus at this hotel is that they have a kettle in their rooms.
