We provide comfy beds in a dorm room and private rooms, or you can pitch your tent in our big garden. We offer you breakfast and a meal of the day prepared with fresh local products, and clean showers. Our on-site bar, many chilling spots in the garden and campfire place make KARMA Hostel a perfect place to rest your head or hang out with other travellers.
A non karma hostel
Reviewed By sarahgB2728NKMe and my friend volunteer here over Christmas and New Year, working over the festive period whilst all the owners took extended holidays. The vibe without the owners was nice. The long term volunteers and us kept things running smooth. We had fun. We cooked (including feasts for celebrations), cleaned and finished a variety of outdoors DIY Tasks- completing the list of jobs that was given to us. We worked hard. When an owner returned the vibe soured. She was rude to the long term volunteer who had been the pillar stone of the hostel in her absence. She never spoke with us or expressed any gratitude for our service. For our final night she asked us to pay or leave which unfortunately resulted in an argument because we felt it was not just, after our voluntary work at the hostel. So we left. Rude staff. I don't recommand.

My impressions from the Miranda guesthouse are mixed.
Reviewed By an3piFirst the good: You cannot ask form a more hospitable person than Elizaveta, who with her husband owns the house. She is attentive and caring, making you feel at home, and her Russian is proficient. Breakfasts she prepares consist of good local dishes and she adjusts them to you requests. As for the house, rooms are Spartan but clean. On the eastern side they face the famous Lamaria Church and the tallest snow-covered mountain of Georgia. Simply beautiful. Now the bad: The guesthouse is not really located in Ushguli. It is in Zhibiani, a small community. This practically means that if your driver drops you in the center of Ushguli, you have to carry your luggage almost a kilometer over a hill. There is also a problem with lamps at night. The owners have installed high efficiency bulbs, which do not work when electricity fluctuates, and it fluctuates frequently. Expect that you will have only candle light in the bathroom at night (see a picture). Yet the biggest problem is Miranda, owners’ daughter after which the guesthouse is named, who is designated to communicate in English. Unfortunately, she treats guests with disdain, as if they were unruly children at school. She was rude and, for example, told us not to complain about a broken toilet cover because it was difficult to repair (see another attached picture). Fortunately, Elizaveta took care of the problem the next day. Altogether, I hope that the Miranda guesthouse will be very good in the future.

Good place to stay for your ski holiday!

It´s located in the very downtown of Mestia, there are many shops and restaurants within walking distance. It´s owned by a kind family, which is very helpful. They also rent ski for a very reasonable price. I didn´t try their breakfast...

one of the best hostels
Reviewed By ZinaPortnovaBy one name there are two types of accomodation - camping are and hostel, which is a country house with single beds (very soft and comfy) and a balcony with a fantastic view on the 2nd floor and kitchen and shower on the 1st. I've had one of the best sleeps in this bed after one of the best hikes:) The owners are nice and friendly. Price is very cheap.

A very good option in Lalkhori (Iprali)
Reviewed By Vidar_wearetravellerWe certainly recommend this Place for Your overnight stay in Lalkhori/Iprali on Your way to Ushguli. Rooms are clean and spacious. The Food was good and plentiful. The Cook was very helpful With us, which is important since we depend on a gluten free diet. She made the traditional mchadi (corn flower bread) both for breakfast and lunch. We also could choose what we wanted in Our lunch Box. What I miss is a better outside sitting Groups. Provided the Nice weather, it would be better to sit outside to eat. The price was absolutely Worth it. Mind that the guest house is located 2 km Down the valley after Iprali. This may at first seem awkward, but the carrot is that you will have a 2 km Shorter trek the day after.

Guesthouse Villa Kardwell is located 7 km away from Martvili canyon. In 100 metres from the house there is a river where one can enjoy swimming and sunshine. We offer huge garden where one can chill in hammocks and enjoy calm rural atmosphere. We offer also delicious traditional georgian food and homemade wine per request. There is wifi on the whole territory of property.

The place itself is so cozy and quiet that we were sad to leave. Not to forget the food, their breakfasts are royal! We will definitely come back if we visit Georgia again.

Very clean hostel, helpful and friendly staff, great food and drinks at the bar (you should definitely check it out when staying at the hostel, it's the best place to hang out and meet beautiful people in Zugdidi), we definetly recommend it :)

Our hotel is situated in the the region of Mestia, village becho. It has a great view of the mountain Ushba, food is made from natural materials, which is produced by the owners of the hotel and so its‘ very useful for health. In 100 metres from hotel there is the river Dolra, which is made special climate on that area.

Reviewed By Greg RIf you want rustic and rudimentary, genuine hospitality and spectacular views this is a good stop. Mañana is a genuine person - a good, helpful host who cooks great meals on one stove. The view of Mt. Ushba is spectacular. The hikes from here are several and worthwhile. Make sure you take the short stroll to the mineral water well. The access road is rough dirt but Mañana will arrange a pick-up from the main road. Wi-Fi is sporadic but it works.

Reviewed By TimBudd1954We stayed with Maria & Zhareda for two nights and loved our time with them. The guest house has nice rooms with comfortable beds and their is hot water in their bathroom. Maria is very nice and happy to help you with whatever you might need. She was always asking if we were hungry, offering us coffee and making sure that we were happy. We really enjoyed our time with them and would recommend their guesthouse to anyone coming to Ushguli
