Wir waren mit einer gröÃeren Gruppe hier essen, die Reservierung hatte tadellos geklappt, der Service war freundlich und entgegenkommend. Die beiden Gasträume sind eher traditionell gehalten, der Bereich, in der die Theke ist etwas moderner und ansprechender als der gröÃere Saal, der nicht in allen Ecken in einem gepflegten Zustand war und auch sehr groà und etwas ungemütlich ist, wenn dann nicht die Ãberzahl der Tische besetzt ist. Auf der Speisekarte sollte jeder etwas finden, Salate, Currywurst, diverse Schnitzel, Wildschein-Ragout und andere saisonale Gerichte von der Tageskarte, die Preise sind z.T. günstig, z.T. angemessen. Die Wartezeiten waren schon recht lang, dafür kam alles frisch und gleichzeitig auf den Tisch, auch Sonderwünsche wurden berücksichtigt. Zusammenfassend bekommt man gutes Essen zu einem fairen Preis in einer ordentlichen, aber nicht besonders ansprechenden Umgebung. Wir würden hier gerne nach einem Waldspaziergang oder zu einem lockeren, ungezwungenen Essen wieder einkehren, für besondere Anlässe oder ein festliches Essen gibt es bessere Alternativen.

Zur Treppe ist eine Dorfgaststätte in Stolberg-Breinig. Der Gastraum mit erweitertem Speisesaal lässt erkennen, dass man hier gerne aus dem gesamten Einzugsgebiet essen geht, auch gerne einmal mit gröÃeren Gruppen. Hier findet man weniger Exoten auf der Speisekarte als vielmehr die Klassiker einer Dorfgastronomie: Sahneschnitzel, Reibekuchen etc. Das ist gut so, denn diese Art von Speisen haben diese Art von Gastronomiebetrieben auch über die Jahre beständig erfolgreich gehalten. Schön sind auch die speziellen Schwerpunkt-Angebote zu bestimmten Wochentagen, z.B. Schnitzeltag. Also kurzum, alles richtig gemacht, tolles Restaurant!

Nice location in the woods, just outside of town. Generous servings of very reasonable priced food on a large terrace. We had asparagus with salmon and schnitzel.

We chose this restaurant due to its good reviews (not just on Tripadvisor but also other German-language websites). The restaurant has a beautiful garden and the ambience was nice. The waiter was very friendly as well. However the food didn't live up to online reviews and our expectations. Before we went there, I checked out their menu and it offers quite a few creative dishes which are rarely seen in German restaurants. So among others we ordered one starter "scampi grilled in garlic sauce" and "Eggplant schnitzel with salad". I was quite disappointed when I tried the starter since it should come with salad wit passion fruit vinaigrette. But it tasted nothing of passion fruit vinaigrette. The salad from my starter tasted exactly the same as the salad from my main dish. The other food we had is quite average. But if the restaurant put something on the menu, I expect they should deliver the food too. If they happen to run out of the ingredient, they should tell us up front. Besides serving food not as described as the menu, they did not offer any bread and butter like most German restaurants. All the main dishes don't have any vegetables (except vegetarian dishes) and you have to pay extra for the salad bar. So I would not recommend this restaurant because they are quite pricey and the food was not even tasty.

Sonntag waren wir zum Brunch im Kupferpavillon. Wenn man sich Sonntags einmal etwas gönnen möchte und das etwas andere Frühstück mag ist man hier genau richtig. Das Angebot ist schlicht überwältigend. Wer hier nichts für seinen Geschmack findet ist selber schuld. Egal ob man eher das klassische Frühstück bevorzugt oder gerne mal etwas neues ausprobieren möchte. Hier kommt jeder auf seine Kosten. Alles immer frisch, reichhaltig und sehr ansprechend präsentiert. Auch geschmacklich bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Garniert wird das reichhaltige und ansprechende Angebot durch einen aufmerksamen und freundlichen Service.Danke für einen schönen und kulinarisch sehr empfehlenswerten Vormittag.Wir kommen gerne wieder, nicht nur weil man bei einem Besuch gar nicht alles kosten kann was so ansprechend und Appétit anregend dargeboten wird.

Cozy restaurant in Stolberg just outside of Aachen. Lovely dining at well appointed tables in an "old world setting". Very attentive service & creative cuisine. I have dined here at least 8 times & have never been disappointed. Ample parking. Outside dining if weather OK. Reasonably priced 3 course lunch menu. Excellent coffee- hard to find in Germany. Big wine list for such a small operation.

During our visit to Stolberg we went here twice as the food was very good the first time. Definitely try the wiener art or the spargelschnitzel, delicious. Staff could be a bit more enthousiastic, but overall it was fine. The music inside though is not really fitting, could change the entire athmosphere. Would def recommend though.

We had previously visited and reviewed the excellent Kunsters that used to be at this address, so we thought we would give this new restaurant a visit. I am very glad that we did. My wife and I both had cauliflower soup for starters. It was excellent, hot and delicious. For our main course, my wife had halibut while I had an enormous Wienerschitzel. Both dishes came with a generous portion of bratkartoffel. Both main courses were very good. If I had a minor criticism, it would be that the bratkartoffel (fried potatoes) lacked a little finesse and could have been sliced a little more thinly.Desserts were on offer, but although we both have large appetites, we were too full to order dessert. This is a family run restaurant. The owners are very friendly. We wish them every success in their new restaurant. It is in a village and so it will not be easy, as there is no passing trade. We visited on a Wednesday and it was quiet. I think there were perhaps just six covers, but we were told that it is busy on Friday and Saturdays and especially on Saturdays booking is needed. The food here is better than that normally found in this area of Germany. It is well worth a visit from Stolberg or Aachen.

If you're the type that likes 'old fashioned German food' eg schnitzel with pommes and vegetables, and furniture that hasn't been replaced since the early '80, then you might want to consider. We were here for a birthday last year which is the only reason we stayed... In all honesty, the food wasn't bad. It's just not what we normally eat and like
