This is a must-see village in the Harz Mountains, with very well maintained half-timbered houses. looking down over the village is the castle, which is still being restored. There are plenty of cafes and bars in the village, but none in the castle when I was there. parking in Stolberg can be difficult - the car parks are pay-to-park.

Fortunately, we had an excellent guide. Otherwise it would have been a bit boring. This way we got a more detailed glimpse into local history and the production process of different materials.

wer die Burg besucht, sollte sich auch die Zeit für die in unmittelbarer Burgnähe gelegene hatholische Kirche nehmen, die wohl aus einer frühen Burgkapelle hervorgegangen ist, augenscheinlich wurde sie trotz starker Hanglage mehrfach an- und umgebaut, sie ist nicht spektakulär, aber hat Atmosphäre
