Our hosts at the Gastehaus Wahnenmuehle suggested this restaurant for our first dinner upon arriving in Erkrath. Driving up to the door, one is a little taken back by the appearance, not truly understanding what one is getting themselves into. Upon entering the door and trying to communicate with the piano player, only to find out he is a dummy, one starts to get a little idea of what one is in store for!!Lest I ruin some of the surprise, let me just say that we enjoyed our time so much, that we made plans to return several nights later to celebrate my swethearts birthday. Chef Cook Ralf is a very gracious and entertaining proprietor and made us feel very welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and especially the interaction with Chef Cook Ralf and the rest of the staff. If you are in the Erkrath area, we highly recommend that you enjoy an evening at the Pfannkuchenstube. Thank you again to Chef Cook Ralf for making my sweethearts birthday celebration in Germany so special!!

We call it our second living room.Because we spend so much time there.It is because of the special delicious food.My favourite salad is the Veggie goat cheese.The Flammkuchen is prominent And the fries and potato wedges are beyond words Also the big burgers and the beers are selected.For cocktail i recommend the Caipirinha.The staff is very friendly.The prices are adequate.

Not only will you get delicious food for a fair price, the service is friendly and quick. My dinner was medallions of beef, pork and turkey with roasted onions, and a baked potato. My husband had the Cevapcici. All of the meat was perfectly cooked and wonderfully seasoned. The fries were lightly browned and crisp. The roasted onions were thinly sliced, crisp and fried to release their slight sweetness. Our meals were delivered to us piping hot. Their red table wine was not dry enough for our tastes. In the future, we'll just order a beer. We'll certainly return to this restaurant alone and with friends. If you wish to eat there on Saturday night, a reservation is recommended or you might have to wait 20-30 minutes for a table. The food is worth the wait.

Gyros mit Salat und Pommes Frites waren lecker. Gyros absolut nicht fettig, Pommes Frites ok aber nicht überragend, Tzatziki könnte etwas cremiger sein. Alles in allem aber gut, schnell serviert und günstig. Die Portionen recht groà auch für hungrige.

This was a revelation. Hunting round for somewhere to eat, with many other restaurants in town full (on a Tuesday night! - Christmas parties, I guess) we tried here and were fortunate enough to get a table. And how fortunate we were. The menu was small (not surprising given the size of the kitchen!), but perfect. And the food was great. I had the Argentinian steak, which was lovely - but I have to say, the pasta looked wonderful and if I get a chance to go back will certainly be giving that a go. The ambiance is lovely and service good. Only recommendation is to stay clear of the bananaweizen beer. Sounds interesting, but certainly not a beer for me. WAAAY to sweet. Stick with the pils or alt!

Ate here recently with my friends, Lovely setting in the centre of a small town.Service was good, Food very good.Sat outside under a huge umbrella, Slight problem with a small step, Which is difficult to judge, Customer had a bad fall whilst we were there, Something that the Restaurant needs to address.

This was a lovely little find. The view from the street is extremely charming and the only downside to the restaurant was being seated in a modern room. My wife had the goose confit with potato dumplings, red cabbage with cherries, baked stuffed apple. A wonderful dish. The red wine was paired exceptionally well.I had the pork cutlets, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. Excellent as well. The wait staff spoke English well and walked us through an all German menu, answering all the questions they could. The day ended with a delicious Raspberry Crumble. Would definitely go again!!

It's a very nice,romantic place to spend a relaxing time.Outside is a nice terrace for sunny weather and inside is a rustic cellar with nice atmosphere.The meals are perfect.It is not too much,so you can have different tapas.I mostly like the fresh bread with 2dips and the cheeseplate.And if you are an oenophile you are also here at the right place.Whether the red or the white wines both are excellent.
