Brasserie Bel Ami

Reviewed By Syrah63

This had long been missing in Bussum, a local low key yet very pleasant meeting place. Food is satisfactory, the classics are good and sometimes great specials. Very nice wine by the glass and not skimpy! Actually jealous of the most welcoming and stylish smoking room! Service changes - good intentions and excellent core team - new ones need better training. All in all a welcome and comfortable hang out !

Het Oude Raadhuis

Eemnes is a beautiful Dutch village with a rich history in its battle against the waters of the Zuyderzee. Since the building of the Afsluitdijk, floods are a distant memory, carved into a sign next to this restaurant. They have built terraces on both sides of the single main road which is the old part of Eemnes. This restaurant is open for lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals. I'd recommend both the lunches and the dinner. I hear the steaks are good. But so is the halibut and cod fillet which we tried. Good coffee at the end. They change the menu every couple of months to make use of seasonal ingredients. Have tried the chef's special once and was not disappointed. Opens at 12, just in time for a late brunch. Dinner Menu doesn't have vegetarian options, but maybe you can ask?

Restaurant De Coeswaerde

This nice little restaurant is right in the middle of town and specializes in all varieties of dutch pancakes (pannekoeken) a must for any visitor. Look at the menu to select your topping(s) and then a thin freshly cooked pancake, manhole size, is brought to your table with syrup and powder sugar. One is sufficient - it does not get any better! The town of Laren is just beautiful, nice to wander after parking your car in a walking distance free parking lot. Browse, buy, smell in town and then eat one of these pancakes and you'll be happy!

Old friends who live here took us to enjoy an evening meal. I had herring as a starter and halibut to follow. Both were delicious. We drank house white wine - the Sauvignon Blanc was excellent. Two courses each €217 including tip.

Restaurant in a nice location in Blaricum. Atmosphere OK but staff could be more welcoming. At the end of the evening one gets the sense that it is time to leave... the menu is ok, quality good but choice somewhat limited.

Great cozy atmosphere and best service.Lovely for uptown families with kids, grandparents or just romantic wine & dine.Servings and plate serving is superb, i.e. size of food, dressing and adding fries, salat etc all-in.Especially is not fully booked, superb service with extra add-ons from the chef.Try the daily specials for fresh fish and seafood.I would love to drive all the way from Amsterdam here just to get the best food and service around with great pricing.Unable to think of a reason not recommend this to all.

We opted for starter and main course. The food was quite good however, for the price you pay it probably is not worth it. For example starters: around 15 Euros for 1 scallop, or 13 Euros for 4 Shrimps. For Mains the quality of the meat was very good. The Tuna dish however didn't seem to work with the vermicelli. So all in all an average experience.Dear Qasim,Thank you for your review. Sorry to read that in your opinion some dishes are overpriced. The scallop dish with risotto, cauliflower, parmesan and hazelnut. One scallop is on top of the risotto, the other is cutted into small pieces and mixed with the risotto. There is a difference in price of fresh scallops we using or scallops from the fridge or in a glass jar. Fresh scallops are expensive in this season. The other dish of Gamba, melon, parsley, popcorn and curry, we use the bigger gamba’s off high quality which cost more than average scrimp. All dishes are made using the freshest seasonal and where possible, sustainable ingredients. This means that it can have an impact on the price we have to pay to our supplier and the selling price. The tuna dish and the vermicelli didn't work together. I respect your personal opinion in this. See you next time in Brasserie Bakboord.

This grand cafe has a nice ambiance. Service is friendly. The three course dinner was tasty. A pity with the main course there were little vegetables. The courses were nicely done up and appealed to the eye. A bottle of wine is expensive, more than average.

I have dined last winter in this restaurant with Dutch friends who took me here. You need the car, I presume taxi from Amsterdam would be quite expensive. Over all, great, professional service . Somehow I think it lacks of great Dutch sense of Humor, but staff was knowledgeable of wine and food .Other issue was a slow service/ restaurant was busy, but we needed to wait almost 45 minutes of our food. Thank goodness company was good.Food: very good. My soup (Hot)was unbelievable good, Lamp was tender and tasty, desert (even it was just ice cream, but I am Ice cream fan) was very good. Wine recommendation fro m waiter good. Not a typical expensive recommendation but reasonable price for good wine. Over all experience on my second visit: Good place which I would recommend Not your tourist type of the restaurant, but a proper, good DUTCH restaurant with great food and Wine. When Dutch do something well, boys they do it Well. Thank you Ps Total Bill Euro 244/ 4 people each had ,3 aperatives, 2 courses, 3 deserts, and 2 bottles of Sparkling water and one bottle of white wine !
