We visited with friends , on their recommendation , and we were not disappointed . Leinsweiler is a lovely village set in a landscape of steep hills covered in lines of vines with stupendous views , and our hosts Gerhard and Elke both speak excellent English , and gave us a really warm welcome . We found the food classy , and their prices reasonable , all in all a thoroughly enjoyable Sunday Lunch .

We came across this place during a hiking tour in the area and were very much positively surprised by the quality of the food. It was fresh, delicious and homemade. They have some vegetarian and even vegan options on the menu (a rarity in this area!). Service is a bit rough, though.

Wir waren im Juni 2018 zu viert mit drei Kindern in der Pfälzer Wald stubn auf der Sonnenterrasse zum Abendessen. Das Essen war super lecker und hat voll unseren Geschmack getroffen. Ich persönlich war sehr überrascht dass es eine Suppe als Vorspeise und einen Salat zum Gericht gab. So findet man das heute noch selten.Pluspunkt war auch dass die Kinder als erstes ihr Essen zum Tisch gebracht bekamen. Die Wirtsleute Chritian Vasold und Daniela Vasold-Zeiner sind sehr freundlich und haben für jeden Wunsch ein offenes Ohr.

My friends and I ended up here by accident because everything in the Gleiszellen Winzergasse was full. We were happy to have found this slightly unorthodox gem in the Pfalz - the chic Interpretation of local decor mirrored the interesting and delectable cuisine - mega fall off the bone pork chop simmered in wine served with herbed dumplings... The plus side is that the owner always finds seating for guests, the minus: the couple we were seated with traded a romantic dinner for two for a raucous evening for five. With all of the excitement a main course was forgotten but quickly prepared with many apologies. All in all well worth a return visit.

A no-nonsense restaurant with a cosy atmosphere in a place where you would not expect it: the Dahn sportpark.Some locals suggested to have diner there when we asked for their recommendations for a restaurant they would like to go to theirselves.Have been eating there several times and were never disappointed: good food in portions big enough to satisfy the sportsmen we are.A good choice of local (Pfalz) wines too,The interior is cosy with a lot of wood and the personell is friendly.Highly recommended for those who appreciate good food but do not like a 'star restaurant' ambiance.Did I mention the reasonable pricing?

This is my favorite restaurant, family owned and run, friendly and great food. The inside is very nicely decorated and the outside terrace along the water canal and the water wheel in view is just the best place to relax with a glass of Riesling. The best part of this place is that my uncle Norbert Seel is the immediate neighbor to the owners of this restaurant. Ate their many times while visiting and will go back soon... I hope.

This was our fourth stay at this place, three times in the beautifully decorated apartment which is excellent value for two couples and once in a double room. The apartment and the rooms are tastefully decorated with wood flooring and panelling traditional for this region. The Landgasthaus is a wonderful country inn which is convenient as a stopover on our travels to Austria. We even booked this place on the way back from Austria too.The traditionally styled restaurant had a lovely ambience. The staff were friendly and efficient. I speak German but there are staff that do speak English if needed. The food was delicious as usual and definitely try the local specialities. It does get busy with coach trips and the staff deal with these stressful times in a professional manner. The breakfast was excellent and again the service very efficient.We will definitely return here again on our motorbike trips to Austria. The only drawback is that it can get noisy from the busy traffic if you are staying there but saying that we have always had a good nightâs sleep.

While this scenic restaurant can be busy with tour groups (check outside for large coaches), the seating in the courtyard is relaxing and nice. The young girl waiting on us was very pleasant, competent and lovely. She suggested to bring the sauce of our dish in a sauciere âon-the-sideâ, in case we didnât like it she would bring something else. Very nice. But, Boy, we liked the cheese/cream sauce! Notable is the fact that rotisserie chicken is only available on Wednesdays, not on the weekend. A reason to return! Overnight accommodation in historic Deutsche Bahn railroad cars is available nearby. Moderately priced, reservations are accepted.

Ich muss meine Beurteilung vom Mai dieses Jahres ergänzen. Wahrscheinlich hatten wir bei unserem damaligen Besuch etwas Pech mit den anwesenden Gästen. Das Lokal war sehr voll und um die Theke standen die Anwesenden in Zweierreihe â also alles das, was nicht gerade für eine gemütliche Atmosphäre beiträgt. Inzwischen haben wir das Restaurant erneut besucht. Bei jetzt normalem Besuch hat uns das urige Ambiente â versehen mit Lokalkolorit â viel besser gefallen. Unsere Bedienung â wir vermuten die Chefin selbst â war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die bestellten Gerichte (Schwenksteak und Zwickerplatte zu je 9,90 â¬) waren gut und reichlich. Auch die Getränke (Bier und Rieslingschorle je 0,5l) für 3,00 ⬠bzw. 3,10 ⬠stellten preislich zufrieden. Insgesamt gesehen kann das Lokal weiter empfohlen werden und wir werden bestimmt anlässlich des nächsten Besuches der Hauensteiner Schuhmeile wieder kommen.
