While this scenic restaurant can be busy with tour groups (check outside for large coaches), the seating in the courtyard is relaxing and nice. The young girl waiting on us was very pleasant, competent and lovely. She suggested to bring the sauce of our dish in a sauciere âon-the-sideâ, in case we didnât like it she would bring something else. Very nice. But, Boy, we liked the cheese/cream sauce! Notable is the fact that rotisserie chicken is only available on Wednesdays, not on the weekend. A reason to return! Overnight accommodation in historic Deutsche Bahn railroad cars is available nearby. Moderately priced, reservations are accepted.

Hier werden Fischliebhaber verwöhnt: das Hummerfestival im Landhaus Restaurant ist ein wunderbares kulinarisches Erlebnis. Wir bekamen ein tolles 7 gängiges Menu serviert und dazu ebenso viele Weine perfekt abgestimmt durch die Tochter des Hauses Nadine Bäz, einer Sommeliere. Zum Auftakt servierte man uns Hummer, Mozarella Roulade und Sepia Nudelsalat. AnschlieÃend Hummer mit Reis, Avocado Emulsion mit Dillblüten gefolgt von Hummer mit Kalbskopf 60/60 Ei, Zitronenthymian und Kaviar. Danach servierte man uns Hummer, "Sous Vide" Bisque, Pak Choi Vitelotte. Perfekt die Verbindung zwischen Hummer und Drey Aged Beef ergänzt durch Trüffel, Kürbis und Artischocken. Als Dessert: Delice Zartbitter, Himbeeren und Espuma. Einfach nur köstlich. Das Hummerfestival hat einen festen Platz im kulinarischen Kalender des Landhaus Restaurant und ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Dieses Restaurant mit Hotel ist sicher noch ein Geheimtipp. Wunderschönes romantisches Restaurant, vielleicht auch ein bisschen kitschig, dies ist Ansichtssache, aber eindeutig ist die exzellente Küche mit Gerichten die man nicht so oft auf Speisekarten antrifft. Eine spezielle Karte mit Gerichten der Jahreszeit ergänzen die normale Karte. Die Süppchen, Steinpilzsuppe und Walnusssuppe mit frischen Feigen sind geschmacklich nicht zu übertreffen. Auch die Fleischgerichte Rumpsteak mit Kastanienmuss und Lammrücken schmecken wirklich ausgezeichnet. Die Nachspeisen aus hausgemachtem Eis sind Spitze. Selten so gut gegessen, bei nächster Gelegenheit gerne wieder.

I slept here while hiking along Pfälzer Waldpfad. The hotel is nice, with a regerating wellness center, and comfortable rooms. The restaurant offers traditional tasty dishes of the area. Smiling and gentle personnel both for the hotel and the restaurant

All local hotels seemed booked but I was recommended here for the one night B & B + evening meal. About a dozen rooms.Great welcome and excellent English spoken. A little tired and not exactly modern more traditional HOWEVER a truly good evening meal and a rather soft bed BUT after 2 weeks of so called luxury hotels that gave me a really bad back I actually had 9 hours unbroken sleep and awoke as happy as a 3 year old. Yes thank you a great stopping off point and all very reasonable cost.On the old road in Hauenstein close to the shoe shops...they even have a shoe museum in the small town and the area is quite well worth a stay.

We didn't stay in the hotel, but after running out of petrol in our car we dropped in to ask if they could help at all. Not only did the owner send his son to help us pay at the local petrol station (using his card!), he also let us use the hotel WiFi and went out of his way to serve us drinks in the middle of a busy dinner service. Made our day!

Ich muss meine Beurteilung vom Mai dieses Jahres ergänzen. Wahrscheinlich hatten wir bei unserem damaligen Besuch etwas Pech mit den anwesenden Gästen. Das Lokal war sehr voll und um die Theke standen die Anwesenden in Zweierreihe â also alles das, was nicht gerade für eine gemütliche Atmosphäre beiträgt. Inzwischen haben wir das Restaurant erneut besucht. Bei jetzt normalem Besuch hat uns das urige Ambiente â versehen mit Lokalkolorit â viel besser gefallen. Unsere Bedienung â wir vermuten die Chefin selbst â war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die bestellten Gerichte (Schwenksteak und Zwickerplatte zu je 9,90 â¬) waren gut und reichlich. Auch die Getränke (Bier und Rieslingschorle je 0,5l) für 3,00 ⬠bzw. 3,10 ⬠stellten preislich zufrieden. Insgesamt gesehen kann das Lokal weiter empfohlen werden und wir werden bestimmt anlässlich des nächsten Besuches der Hauensteiner Schuhmeile wieder kommen.

this is not on the main street but hidden away near the Shoe museum - and it is like finding Aladdins Cave - a beautiful restaurant and Stuberl with superb food and a warm and friendly welcome.

The lakeside location is excellent. There was a wedding party when we visited but we were still well looked after. The food was good and the staff friendly.
