Reviewed By eeliinaaWe enjoyed Methusha so much we wanted to extend our stay there. The room was a bargain, and for a very cheap price we got a clean and beautiful room. It does get quite hot inside once the sun starts shining in, so then you know it's time to hit the beach, which is conveniently located just across the main street. Sleeping in the room was very comfortable as there was zero noise from outside. The breakfast was made for our liking, which was very kind of the owners. We also used the laundry service and bought tickets to Chaminda's Whale Watching Tour (five stars for them as well). So far this was the best guest house we've stayed in! We even felt a bit saddened to leave Methusha and Mirissa behind...

Reviewed By stevenc506Sun Style is a basic but decent, no frills homestay option. A bed with a mosquito net around it, separate bathroom. Clean but simple, fan room, no AC. The place is located a few mins walk from the famous Coconut Tree Hill & a 10 min stroll to the main beach with the decent on sand restaurants. Sun Style is also on the main road, although I didn't find the noise an issue... some might. The road also has many regular buses whizzing along to Matara, Galle, Unawatuna, Dalawella, Colombo etc. Mirissa is a cool place with a vibe by SL standards. WiFi at Sun Style is super fast, very quick. So if that's your thing this is a bonus. Laundry also taken care of for 500 RS. Breakfast (free) was nice, typical SL dishes. Last thing... the host. Extremely polite & helpful. A great guy for sure! Wonderful hospitality.

Amazing stay
Reviewed By S7924LWkatielI originally booked this hotel for 2 nights, however when I arrived I decided to book it for 7 nights instead. This was down to the incredible hospitality from the family who run this hotel. I instantly felt welcomed and at home as soon as I arrived, as a lone traveller this was an important feature for me. The room was massive, bed comfortable, very large balcony with a lovely view of the gardens and a big bathroom with a hot shower. Very clean hotel and very close location to the beach, even better an amazing coffee shop called aloha is a few minutes walk away. The family invited me for breakfast one morning as part of their new year celebrations and even gave me some fresh mangoes from their garden one day. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to stay in mirrisa!

Reviewed By Trip642301We stayed at White Plaza for 5 nights with our 2 kids in a family room. The room is clean and comfortable and perfect for what we needed. The rooms are in a peaceful setting with the only noises heard from the peacocks, monkeys and woodpeckers (our kids loved the wildlife) Breakfast is served every morning to your veranda/ balcony and it’s amazing!!! All the fruit you could want. Amazing coffee. Hot chocolate for the kids. Pancakes, rotis, jam, eggs. It’s so lovely and the amazing family are so delighted to make you something different to try every day. The wonderful family can not do enough for you and they sorted out so many things for us - surf lessons, car from the airport, car for our onwards journey to Ella and a tuk tuk to the beach each today. Our trip culminated in a lovely Sri Lankan meal which they prepared for us on the last night. Our kids played with their kids and had the most wonderful time together. We felt so lucky we had stayed. Thank you ?

Reviewed By botaskaSuper ubytování v krásne zahradě. Moc milá a vstřícná rodina, ochotni lidi který se celou dobu starají o čistotu a vše kolem. Prima bar s kuchyní na večerní posezení v příjemném prostředí. Byli jsme moc spokojeni, s pozdravem Pavel & Nikola.

Reviewed By Maro260683Мы планировали прожить здесь 10 суток. По фото вроде все устраивало. Когда заезжали нашей большой семьей из 4 взрослых и двух детей уже уставшие, не поняли куда мы заселились. В принципе есть все, две комнаты, две большие кровати с балдахином, ванная, кухня, терраса, но в каком это все состоянии. Осознание пришло позже... 1) самое не понятное для нас, не было ворот и на территорию этого гестхауса мог зайти любой желающий, что и происходило каждый день. То женщина зайдет, цветок сорвет, то парнишки выходят из-за дома, увидев, что мы вернулись, ночью мужик бродил по двору. Что им нужно было? Вопрос остался открытым. А собаки... ну это были наши постоянные гости. Мы попали в период, когда свет отключали 2 раза в сутки, мы не могли оставить дверь открытой, чтобы проветривалось в душную ночь, потому что заходили собаки.... попросили хозяина сделать что-нибудь, он сказал, "no problem" и забыл на несколько дней, только когда мы подручными средствами соорудили себе ворота, он что-то придумал... и то ерунду... 2) жуткие, длинные, коричневые черви в ванной комнате... скажете, природа, все естественно... нееет, не прокатит, мы месяц путешествовали по острову, жилье бывало также недорогое,но НИГДЕ такого не встречали 3) кухня! Вот это самое ужасное впечатление оставило, лучше бы ее не было вовсе, из-за нее выбрали это место...С виду вроде норм, терпимо... но вся резинка холодильника черная, грибок?! Столешница бетонная, крашенная черной краской, но видимо ооочень давно, краска слезла местами, плитка грязная, низкий потолок. Насекомые и ящерицы, это нормально, природа... но были рыжие муравьи, они кусаются больно ))) за 7 дней 3 раза менял балон с газом, видимо они были полупустые... 4) двери в спальню и на кухню сделаны из досок, как дверь в сарай, только крашенные, но беда в том, что их какие-то жуки уже все съели... я боялась, что дети пальцы засунут в эти дырки, фу... 5) нет мусорного контейнера. Хозяин складировал мусор прямо во дворе, мы вынуждены были тоже туда ставить, напротив дома, в 5-7 метрах от терассы. Собаки разгрызали мешки и раскидывали мусор по участку. Он приезжал, собирал и сжигал, не зависимо от того, что мы делали, ели или сидели на террасе, мы нюхали горелый запах нашего же мусора... У нас был семейный номер с кухней -это ужас А вот у родителей, второй номер этого гестхауса, маленькая комната с кроватью, ванная. У них, было все терпимо. Ванная чище. Мы решили выехать на три дня раньше, объяснив свои претензии хозяину заранее, за 3-4дня до выезда, он согласился, норм. Но потом привел брата, который лучше знал английский и они с нас требовали комиссию, за ранний отъезд 25% от стоимости ночи... типа комиссия букинга... мы отрегулировали этот вопрос с букинг.ком, но ребята намеренно не брали трубку или отмазывались, что не могут говорить, когда звонили из букинга, чтобы согласовать изменение дат... сама слышала, когда он был у нас во дворе, и я висела на колле с букингом и ему паралельно звонили... хотели с нас взять денег, а на букинге просто самостоятельно изменить даты... В общем не рекомендую, ищите другие варианты, а ребята пусть приводят все в порядок!

Theft! Stealing!
Reviewed By kozhukharelenaStealing! Theft! We stayed at this guest house for 4 days and before the day of check out the money was stolen from our locked room. Was stolen part of the money (of all currencies), presumably in the hope that we will not notice the loss. Spare keys had only the owners of guest house, our door to the room was not broken or hacked. Also, the money was stolen from our neighbors (in the guest house for rent only two rooms). When we came to talk to the owners, they were like the best actors saying they didn't know anything. We called the police, the police were rude to us and absolutely not effective, after long conversations, the police still agreed to accept our statements. But no continuation of the situation was not, the money was not returned and hypocritical acting was continued. In no case do not stay in this Guesthouse and do not believe the owners!!!
