Cottage Morinokokage is little cottages in Funayuki. There are 10 individual cottages, and 4 different types of room are available. Amenities are TV, air-conditioner, refrigerator, electric pot, dryer, Japanese Tea Set, bath & shower (inc. shampoo, hair conditioner, body soap, and hand wash soap), toilet, hammock, garden table, low rebound mattress & pillow, free parking space, laundromat in property, and smoke free in the room. It is located between Anbo and Miyanoura, where easy access to main sightseeing spot such as Jomonsugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo. Only 5 mins drive from Anbo port, 8 mins drive from Yakushima air port, and 20mins drive from Miyanoura port. There is excellent mountain(Myoujou-dake & Funayuki-maedake) view from each rooms, and shining star can be seen at night. Walking distance to seashore to see beautiful sunrise and Tanegashima island. Breakfast, BBQ, early Bento delivery, local restaurant, taxi, rental car can be arranged.

Reviewed By Fredrik Smith SAlready before we arrived, our host Mr Ryosaku Nakashima contacted us to let us know the easiest ways to get to the compound, and travel time from the harbour. While we were taking the ferry across to the island, he helped me plan car rental via mail so we could save time when we arrived. We arrived two hours before check in time, but since we haf told him our estimated arrival time in advance, he had the cabin ready for us already then so we could check in immediately. After a warm welcome, and thorough tour of compound and room he quickly arranged a rental car for us, which was delivered to the compound soon after. He gave us valuable tips for things to do and see, and booked a sea turtle tour for us. Due to some rain and bad weather when we visited, the tour was cancelled twice, but he always kept us updated on the weather forecast, and rebooked the tour for us. And so eventually we got to see the sea turtles laying eggs on the beach the day before we left. We were taken excellent care of, and supplied with everything we could need (including shoe-dryer when we returned soaked from a rainy hike!) from the ever friendly and smiling staff. We stayed for 4 nights, and will gladly come back if we return to Yakushima in the future. We would heartily recommend staying here to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable stay on the island, and a good base for enjoying all the island has to offer. Beautiful Riverside Lodge
Reviewed By Snoozel92This lodge is set by a beautiful river, making for a really relaxing setting. There's a lot of wildlife to see - we saw a huge deer! The hosts are very friendly, and make some great food. I wish I could have stayed longer than just one night. There's also a lot to do in the surrounding area, such as the various Bungoono Geopark sites.

Four newly built cottages on a large expanse of land sit facing the sea。Behind the cottages are the mountains and on a clear day there are great views of Mocchomu.Inside the cottages are large cedar beams and the rooms are filled with the fragrance of the timber.Up to 4 guests can stay in a cottage with 2 people sleeping in the loft area on futons.
Great cottage, hosts and location
Reviewed By beersushiMy wife and I stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Yakushima at the end of September staying in a Skydeck & Terrace bath room. In short we had an absolutely amazing and lovely time. The cottage itself is cute, well kept and clean. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, during our stay they helped book hiking bento’s for us (delicious!), recommend a local restaurant for dinner, as well as phone book a taxi (we are English speakers with only limited Japanese) for us one evening so we could visit a Izakaya in nearby Anbo for some drinks! We hiked most days, but loved coming back each night to the relaxing hot steel bath, as well as yummy complimentary desserts from the hosts! The small kitchen was plenty for us to be able to cook our own meals purchased from the Supermarket nearby (10 minute drive), yum! And the skydeck is magnificent to view the stars, we were lucky enough to have a clear night during our stay, beautiful! As with most of Yakushima you will need a car to get here and around the island, we were able to access all our chosen hiking trail-heads with approx. 45minutes from this accomodation which was super convenient, another great plus. I could go on and on about this location, it really was perfect for us (I haven’t even mentioned the nearby ice-cream shop, restaurants and beach onsens!). I really hope we can come back someday and stay again!

The best accommodation for my family.
Reviewed By YANG MO SIf you have plan to budget travel Aso mountain and Kurokawa onsen with your family this cottage will be a good choice. Cottage was very clean, had everything for resting and really well maintained. Terrace for BBQ also very wide and had good view to see the forest. My only complain is the bed. Mattress had poor cushioning but ok to me. 상대적으로 저렴한 가격으로 쿠로가와 온천 인근 숙소를 구하신다면 이곳은 정말 좋은 선택이라 생각 됩니다. 예약했던 5인용 코티지는 아주 깨끗했고 숙박에 필요한 모든 것들이 잘 구비 되어 있었고 구비된 물품들 역시 잘 관리 되어 있습니다. 테라스는 넓어서 가족들과 바베큐 타임을 가지기에 아주 좋았고 바로 눈앞에 펼쳐진 숲의 좋은 경관을 보고 있으니 힐링되는 느낌이었습니다. 수건이 제공되지 않는 것 이외에 불만은 침대의 매트리스가 얇고 딱딱한 편이었지만 저는 큰 불편함 없이 잘 잘잤습니다. 뭐 방바닥에서도 잘 수 있는 한국 사람이니깐요. ^^ 가족들과 함께 쿠로가와 온천 인근에 숙박하면서 느긋하게 온천을 즐기고 싶지만 비싼 료칸의 숙박 요금을 지불할 생각이 없으신 분들에게 강력 추천 합니다.

Come and recharge at our home! We are located in Anbo area and within a relax walking distance to Gouchou-mae bus station, restaurants, laundromat and gift shops. We are conveniently located near Jomon-sugi, Yakusugi-land and Mt. Miyanoura hiking trails. We have been here since 2013. You will feel right at home in our cottages which are well equipped with all the modern conveniences.

Reviewed By JozudaveWe stayed in one of these cottages for two nights during our trip to Yakushima and it was a great choice. The cost was very reasonable to have your own little apartment to stay in. The location is good with several decent restaurants within walking distance in the evenings and next to the main road with buses (if you take the bus) and not too far to drive to most of the main sites of the island from this spot. The owner is lovely, makes you feel very welcome and knows everything there is to know about Yakushima. For example, I told her I'd like to do some river swimming (not a common request apparently!) and she directed me to a river where locals sometimes go for a swim in summer. Fabulous! She also made sure we were aware there was going to be a rocket satelite launch from a neighbouring island one morning so we could go watch it. Very thoughtful! All in all, I highly recommend this place if you are staying on Yakushima.

Reviewed By dunzコテージ＋デッキで、不自由なく快適に過ごせます。デッキにはテーブルとハンモック、部屋にはポット、シャワー、流し、キッチン、プロジェクターが付いていました。 今回はBBQ食材付きでしたが、ごはんも付いて食べきれないほどの量でした。名物の「対馬とんちゃん」は、柔らかくて美味しかったです。

Spacious and newly renovated
Reviewed By NatureLoverVVRoom are very spacious and and bed are comfortable. It provides free drinks for guests. It has private spa for each suite. TV has Netflix is a plus. Breakfast is good and we heard that dinner is yummy (though we didn’t try). You can take taxi to get there if you carry big luggage as it costs around 1000 yen.

Quaint Log Cabin!
Reviewed By 614audreypThis is a bed and breakfast establishment run by a owner couple, with about 4 cabins. The place was self-built by owner. It is a short 5 min drive away from Kurokawa-Onsen. The cabin is clean, with thick mattresses on floor as beds. The toilet is within the cabin and the bath house is an outside cabin with shower and a hot tub. Owners are hospitable and served great continental breakfast. As this place is away from the city lights, the nights are great for star gazing, and Yukio-san kindly set up the telescope where on 1 night we could see Jupiter, Saturn and Venus! A pleasant experience staying there!
