Reviewed By NaliniMWe booked this hotel because we had an early morning flight from Calama and did not want to take a long shuttle drive from Pedro De Atacama that early and risk missing our flight. There were several issues with our one evening/night stay. 1. While the room was clean and all fixtures worked fine, it was stuffy as there was no ac or fan in the room. When we tried to open one of the windows to let in some fresh air, the mosquitoes got in so we had to close the window. As result, spent most of the night tossing and turning as the room was too warm. 2. The room came with a small kitchenette. It had only one drinking glass, one cup... It took three visits by the room service staff to figure out what we were asking before they finally brought the missing items! This is despite us showing the room service person what was missing. This just shows serious lacking of training in responding to customers who do not speak Spanish. 3. The front desk staff was pleasant but very very slow in checking us in. I looked like he was new on the job because anything we asked him, he did not understand or could not answer. 4. We decided the have the buffet dinner in the restaurant. The manager told us clearly that the price was 11,000 CP per person. There was quite a bit of variety and the food was fresh and fairly tasty. Then we get the bill and we notice that we have been charged 14,000 CP per person!!! When we call and ask the manager (I think his name is Fernando Hara), he says, "Oh, the price has changed but I did not know about it"!!!!! Seriously? How is it that he did not know what the correct price of the buffet was. It's not like the restaurant has a la carte service. THERE IS JUST ONE PRICE FOR HIM TO REMEMBER. Then he gets someone else to come and talk to us. We were firm. We said, if the restaurant manager/staff made a mistake in quoting the wrong price, it is their job to correct it and not make the guest pay the difference for their mistake. Then he tried to make us feel guilty by saying "Oh, I am new to the job. I will have to pay the difference out of my pocket...". We were shocked by his lack of professionalism. He should be fired. Finally, when the revised bill came, they had charged us 11,500CP per person. By then we were too tired and angry to fight anymore and left it at that.

Who does not make her self responsible for thefts occurring within the apartments that she leases. Your belongings will not be safe in it. Furthermore, the administration is tremendously neglectful, even they may give you a key from an apartment already rented, making it -not only- an uncomfortable situation for the host in the apartment finding a stranger coming in it, but violates the safety of the own host. On top of above, there is no aid or solution at all from BERNARDITA PAGUEGUY. She is never available, giving fake phone numbers and names, to avoid any kind of communication after the payment is complete. Once you can find her at her office (at the same building), she has answers like: “I will not be responsible for any item missing, it is the host´s responsibility to watch over his/her belongings”. I found on the internet (Booking, Hotels.com, TripAdvisor) several negative comments and complains against BERNARDITA PAGUEGUY in relation to her tremendous irresponsibility, neglect, lack of ethic, aggressive treatment of clients, innumerable comments on the awful condition of her apartments, not only furniture (broken beds, deteriorated building), mainly the grotesque condition of the place, unhealthy condition that leave hosts susceptible to illness and an insecurity with the usage of beds, bathrooms, furniture, etc. Even if you are in a hurry, I strongly recommend verify first -on the internet-, read the comments before passing through a terrible experience with scammers like this woman. My experience: I needed a place where I could drop my luggage off and take a shower (after a 12 hour flight). The apartment would be used just for 4 hours, waiting for the check-in of the original reservation I had with another apartment-hotel. But I paid for the entire day. BERNARDITA PAGUEGUY charged an average price for (1 room apartment) and she gave me a paper with a name and a phone number. Both were fakes. The name said “Valeria” and the phone number was not available during the 3 days I tried contacting her. Afterward, She gave me a key, then I when to an apartment. Huge was my surprise when I opened the door and found a father with his son in it, already using the place. I came back to her office to switch the key and, finally, I get the apartment where I left my luggage. It was gross, full of dust, broken furniture, dirty walls, rusty home appliances and unclean bathroom. I took a shower –wearing sandals- and I left the apartment. I came back 3 hours later, to pick up my luggage and move to my original reservation. Sadly, I forgot a product for my hair that I have bought specifically for the trip and it was new at that time. That day, at night, I noticed I left it, after that it was a pursuit for 3 days, in the middle I found out –because of the building caretakers- her name was not Valeria. The maids of the Costa Lyon Apartment-Hotel told me Bernardita rented the same apartment to someone else, right away she realized I have moved my luggage (regardless I paid for a whole day) and, that nobody went to clean it therefore they did not know what things I had could leave there. Finally I could meet Bernardita in her office and I demanded to give me back the price of the item they could not find ( I am not sure if one of the maids took it or it was the host after me) Bernardita heard my complaints and told me she could not fix my problem. She also laughed at me because she considered I was claiming something too cheap ($30). That was when I demanded my money back and to be responsible for the hosts safety and their belongings; She told me “I wont respond for anything missing, it is your responsibility take care of your stuff”. Followed this she stood up from her desk yelling she will not pay anything, she walked toward me -cornering me against the exit door- and she yelled at me “Get out of my office” (someone else, in the office- added to this and they along were walking to me). With much impotence and feeling attacked by this woman, I open the door, behind me, to leave; but before being able to close it, she closed it hitting me in the doorway, thereby after an awful service, insecurity, terrible experience -between the disgusting place and the low class level of treat-, I had to face a situation with no manners and aggressiveness; with slammed door and push. The police arrived to the building to verify the situation and talk with her, but she had left. They got her phone number in the building and called her. To which her replied “I can not return the item´s price that I am not aware the host actually had”

The entire hotel feels brand new with its effortless modern vibe. The minimalist chic doesn't detract from the wall to wall windows. The ground floor boasts a private patio while the top room has a never ending view of the waterfront. The breakfast is fantastic too!

Reviewed By danielpP4521KSThis is my first time here and: - The pool smells like pure bleach - the internet did not work; I could not connect none of my devices to the internet. - the rooms had very poor lighting at night - The room lacked most of the kitchen aids needed for cooking etc. I apologize for being so negative, but if you di not provide a service that impresses at first sight, you just don’t make it. Well, this place just did not make it for my stand point of view

Spacious loft, great location and reasonable price

The check-in was very smooth and they allowed me to get my loft much earlier, which I appreciated after a more than 24-hours flight. The loft is very spacious and well equipped. The moment I’ve entered, I felt home. The location could have not been any better. Just a few metres to all the attractions in Santiago de Chile. Restaurants and Cafés are near by, not typical for tourists more for locals. The AC works well for the kitchen/living room area, but not for the bedroom area. Fortunately, it cooled down outside, so I could open the window until early morning, when it became noisy. Cleaning was not included, but for 15 USD they did it. Floor from the lift to the room was always occupied with laundry- big minus!!! English is spoken at the reception.
