Reviews on Cafe food in St Mawes, England, United Kingdom. St Mawes (Cornish: Lannvowsedh) is a small town opposite Falmouth, on the Roseland Peninsula on the south coast of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It lies on the east bank of the Carrick Roads, a large waterway created after the Ice Age from an ancient valley which flooded as the melt waters caused the sea level to rise dramatically, creating an immense natural harbour, often claimed to be the third largest in the world. It was once a busy fishing port, but the trade declined during the 20th century and it now serves as a popular tourist location, with many properties in the town functioning as holiday accommodation. The town is in the civil parish of St Just in Roseland.

Well a bit surprised with this cafe, prices reasonably cheap, food tasty but not enough on the plate, I was disappointed with part of my meal but for the price we paid I can't complain. I don't often put negative feedback on as I always try to see the good.First waitress was very friendly and extremely helpful. Second one who was older was very miserable, unwelcoming and very matter of fact.Won't be returning only because of the unwelcoming attitude of the second waitress, didn't get her name but she was a lot older than the first one.Plus its a cash only place which in this day and age is unusual to say the least.

English Coffee House serving speciality teas, locally roasted fair-trade coffee, homemade cakes and the tastiest cream teas in Falmouth
A lovely coffee shop with an incredibly friendly staff. Both upstairs with its bow window and penny farthing and the cosy, welcoming room downstairs were equally charming. A variety of drinks were offered but we chose the Cornish Clotted Cream tea, even though it was mid-morning and weâd only come in for a drink. Thoroughly recommended.

We last ate here two years ago and this place just gets better. This is our second visit, this time as a last night together for a while as Fal Uni beckons our eldest, so what better than a visit to this excellent restaurant. Not disappointed all our meals were superb, my Spanish fish stew was absolutely magnificent full of flavours, very large indeed. The mussels were big, plump and cooked just right, whilst the falafel and chicken burgers were tasty and filling. All meals are delivered to your table in style, very nicely dressed. The service was impeccable, our main waitress was attentive and helpful. In general the place was spotless, relaxing and sits nicely on the quay side. Outside you can sit and enjoy a drink watching the boats bobbing up and down in the last of the evening sun.

After a visit to the Maritime museum next door we decided to have lunch at Koffiji and what a smart move that was. The service was excellent. The staff clearly love their business and were friendly and genuine. The food was brought quickly and was to an excellent standard. Very very impressed and would recommend this to everyone. We had crab which was obviously fresh and my daughter had a toasted sandwich and we followed that with ice cream for her and cream teas for us.....amazing.....go!!!!!!! Dollyâs is a tea room and wine bar in the centre of Falmouth which opened in July 2011 in one of the most beautiful rooms in town. During the day it is a traditional tea room serving illy coffee, teapigs, cream teas and cakes. It then transforms in the ev
I called here with my daughters and their two dogs for afternoon tea. On arrival, we were welcomed by a friendly waitress and the two resident dogs, who immediately got on well with ours. The tea room decoration and furnishing is reminiscent of the period from 1920 to 1960, with wooden 'chapel' chairs and bare wood table tops. My initial impression of the menu was that the prices were somewhat expensive, at £5.95 for a cream tea with only one scone and a pot of tea, and £10 for 'afternoon tea', which adds a cheese and tomato, or a cheese and cucumber sandwich. However, we all agreed that the food was delicious. We really appreciated that it was served on china crockery, and accompanied by mellow music from the era.

I liked the cafe. Service wasn't quick but it was ok. The China was attractive, the tea was good, the banana cake was ok- I didn't like the very hard dried banana slices on top but I liked the fresh fruit served with it. If I sat up very straight I could see the sea, a pity the windows are not lower. Nice gentle jazzy music was playing, not too loud. The wooden table top felt a bit sticky.BUT the worst thing is there is no loo, you are told to use the nearby public toilet. I think this should be illegal but obviously it is not in UK, although thankfully it's very rare.

Licenced cafe open 7 days. Monday Through Wednesday evening we are open until 8.30pm for Fish and Chip / Curry takeaway - either eat in or take out, and Thursday, Friday, Saturday we have an evening menu and are open until 9pm
Crab sandwiches in Cornwall are quite challenging. First you fail if there is any shell left in the meat. Secondly the bread and everything else has to be perfect. The crab sandwich I had was perfect. Added to that it was served in a lovely setting with a cool glass of beer.

Drive down the well signed lane in the village to park (ample parking) near the church to find the loveliest tea hut with the most delicious food in a beautiful setting. There were plenty of people when we arrived but it didn't feel crowded. There are seats and tables inside and out. We had a ploughmans lunch with very generous slabs of bread and cheese (brie, cheddar and stilton), scrummy chutney and well dressed salad followed by coffee and cake. The Victoria sponge was light as air and delicious, the huge scone with jam and cream I'm assured was perfect. We didn't have time to do the stroll down to the water, but we promised ourselves to do it next time we visit. We will definitely be back.
