Lake Naivasha

Reviewed By DisneyDarwin - Spring, United States

Lake Naivasha is a haven for birds and hippos. We took a boat tour with an expert guide who put us right on the birds, over 40 species. Plus, we got a good look at several hippos. Then we went to Crescent Island and walked up the mild hill to see giraffe, antelope, warthogs, wildebeest and more, plus grand views of the surrounding area. On top of that, the weather was perfect, so we couldn't have had a nicer trip.

Mount Longonot National Park

Reviewed By 751kaseyv - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Gorgeous views. Be sure you bring plenty of water and a snack. We are pretty fit 30 year olds and we found it quite challenging. It took us one hour to reach the rim, then 3 hours to go around the rim, and 40 mins to get back down, with time for breaks. When you get to the rim, go counterclockwise so you tackle the summit first. Otherwise you’ll be too tired at the end of your hike. Entry price of 5,500 Kenyan shillings for two people, card only.

Some say baboons are annoying, I say they are just as part of this park as any other animals. True, there are a plethora of these animals (hanging on the side of the road, branches, trees etc.). I still say "oh look, baboons!". They are interesting creatures, from the oldest one to the babies hanging on to their mommies and the ones that are constantly grooming the other one. Just fun to watch them!

Great Rift Valley

Reviewed By travelwithshreya - Phitsanulok, Thailand

The Great Rift Valley divides Kenya down the length of the country and we were driving in between those rifts at some point of time of our journey. It is home to big cats, elephants, Grevy’s zebras, and endangered Jackson’s hartebeests. Before the mud-road meets the highway at Loruk town, we made a small photo-stop at a viewpoint overlooking Lake Baringo – the freshwater lake known for different species of birds, crocodiles, and hippos. I love The main attractions of the Great Rift Valley the wonderful national parks and safari opportunities enabled by the wealth of wildlife.

Mara River

AfricanMecca Safari scheduled the most wonderful safari I ever had. AfricanMecca Safari is very accommodating to your individual plans and schedule. I had a wonderful trip. Everything was perfectly organized by AfricanMecca Safaris to my entire satisfaction. This trip not only met my expectations, but was even better than expected. I stayed at the Little Governors' Camp. I loved the personalized attention, the tents, the food, the service. Everything was fabulous. Above all, of course, were the safari rides. My driver and guide was Joseph who was awesome. I was able to obtain very close photographs and videos of many animals. The highlight of this trip was watching the Great Wildebeest Migration. We could see the first crossing of the Mara River in 2018 taking place right in front of our eyes. We were the third Jeep to arrive to the scene, so we had an excellent viewpoint. Thousands and thousands of wildebeest, and many zebras kept crossing the river. We were there watching one of the best wonders of nature during almost 2 hours. Unbelievable! Unforgettable! Awesome! I highly recommend visiting the Masai Mara National Reserve which is is best place to watch the Great Wildebeest Migration with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest crossing the Mara River.
