Victoria Falls Waterfront

The Victoria Falls Waterfront is situated on the Northern banks of the Zambezi River, approximately 4 km's upstream from The Victoria Falls and just opposite Siloka (Long) Island. This establishment is designed to attract the younger more adventurous traveller (and of course the young at heart!) who wish to experience the Great Zambezi River, the wonder of the Victoria Falls and its stunning wildlife surrounds, without great expense. It is designed to cater for all travellers, from camping to basic, good quality chalet accommodation. The Waterfront has some lovely riverside chalets with balconies and stunning views. We also have Adventure Village Tents which are permanent tents with 2 x single beds and a campsite - so something to suit everyone. The lodge has fantastic amenities including 2 x swimming pools, a popular bar, restaurant with Peppino's by the river's pizza's (delicious!). There is also an internet cafe, wifi, small souvenir shop and a large activity centre who will help with all activities in the area.

Lovely Zambezi side chalet

Had a good experiance at waterside lodge. Room was cleaned daily and comfortable with a riverside location with amazing sunset view. The hotel location is by the riverside which is a bit out of town and would need taxi transfer to all sites including the Falls. I had a phone number of a great taxi driver which proved valuable for getting around. All staff at the hotel were welcoming. The bar and restaurant suited me as solo traveller which is what had motivated me to stay there rather than a large hotel group which might have had more luxury facilities . over all I enjoyed my stay at the waterside lodge

A nice little lodge

Reviewed By kuu-kanko

Kamunjila was a small lodge not far from the main business area of Livingstone town. It had a nice setting with trees and other vegetation and a pool. My room was pretty simple and basic, but there were flowers in the room to give some character. The room was clean and worked well, even though the quality of construction was quite low, e.g. doors were smaller than the door openings. When the front door was closed, such an opening was left between the door and the frame that the door didn't lock properly. The room was equipped with aircon and both UK and South African power sockets. The bed had a mosquito net. The shower wasn't up to Western standards, but did the job (the water was warm, but it took a while for it to warm up, and the water pressure was not great, but sufficient). WiFi worked mostly well, but sometimes it got slow. The area was quiet. The lodge water tanks were right next to my room and the sound of the water pump (or something similar) disturbed slightly. The business area of Livingstone town was a bit over 5 minutes away by foot, but it wasn't very useful for a tourist, as it had mostly shops and services targeted for locals (clothing, banks, etc.). There were a few supermarkets and some restaurants there. The Livingstone museum was about 15 minutes away by foot. A small lodge like this would easily get wonderful reviews by having a great service attitude. Unfortunately Kamunjila missed that opportunity. Looking at earlier reviews, I was probably served mostly by a different member of staff. I had to ask separately for almost every detail and often the answer was very short. E.g. I asked when the breakfast is and was told to come at 07:30. When I came, I saw it was a buffet, so it probably doesn't have an exact timing. I also asked where I could change money and was told to go change on the street without any further instructions (another guest overheard the discussion and was so kind to change money for me). The breakfast had pancakes, muffins, toast, cereals, juice, coffee, tea and a fresh fried egg and bacon. The lodge also served dinner. The dinner was quite pricey: I paid $45 for two dinners with dessert but without drinks. The quality of food was not up to the price, e.g. the chicken in my chicken curry was chewy.

Affordable choice in Kitwe

Reviewed By davestly

Hotels are expensive in Kitwe. Pamo Hotel is a cheaper option. In its favour, the room I had was good, large, clean with a good bed. It had a decent shower and was pretty quiet. The wifi was poor/intermittent. It is difficult to make the room completely dark at night because of the lights outside and one wall being glass. Food at the bar/restaurant was good if you like Indian (I do). Breakfast (English fried) was also pretty good. There is secure parking in the hotel compound. There is a small pool, but it did not look clean.

Beautiful architecture but a bit remote

Reviewed By Jisteinert

The facilitiess are very beautiful and the industrial loft style is very appealing and stylish. The bar area and pool js also very nice and the bar tender friendly. However, the location is a bit far from most places in Lusaka and taxis are not too cheap. Also, the reception staff was not very helpful. Credit card machines did not work, they first didn't remember my friends' booking and they did not want us to store our suitcases in a safe place after check out. So service could have been considerably improved.

Great place!

Reviewed By larissa_kamarainen

We were at The Royal Sichango for 2 nights in the king suite. Great space, clean, no mosquitos, just a bit hot, the air conditioner cannot cool the room. Darius and all the staff were super attencious and nice, special mention to Jonas, who drove us to the city and also guided us to the falls. We had a great time at the hotel and definitely we would recommend it!

I had read mixed reviews about this lodge and was little sceptical. But unfortunately finding self catering apartments in my budget was hard, so went for this one.We choose 2 bedroom executive apartment. The booking in process was not smooth.I emailed...no response,I called and got it booked and requested confirmation by sms as their internet was not working. Then after couple of days got response by email too......confirmed our date of arrival and nights of stay etc........a day before leaving called again and lo behold we were still not booked....okay so they had availability and booked us there and then but for 1 bedroom apartment....arrived next day and managed to find the 2 bedroom one also available so went for it.... The lodge was clean and well maintained. Our apartment was clean and sofa, bed, carpet etc was clean and apparently less used. The kitchen had less crockery and cutlery but a phone call to reception rectified that. The pool is nice and well maintained and we made good use of it all three days of our stay....The lodge offered breakfast to its residents and it was fresh and well balanced. Overall we had good time and mean to stay here again the next time we are in Lusaka.

Wane Guest Lodge

What a hospitality!

Reviewed By yanyan-doggie

I and my husband stayed for 3 nights for our vacation. The accommodation is a bit far from Livingstone town (about 40 minutes walk), but very cost-effective. The room is clean and comfortable with AC and fridge, and they have a nice garden, pool and bar, too. We felt truly at home thanks for Patrick and other staff's hospitality and kindness. Their hospitality was stunning, and the stay was far beyond the value for money!
