Noisy, but nice place to stay
Reviewed By PatrickH1820The hotel is a bit hard to find (at least in the dark) and there is lots of noise from the road on the other side of the water. The hotel itself is close to perfect. You actually don't have to leave the hotel if you don't want to as they have a pool, saunas, jacuzzi and a good restaurant.

Great place to stay!
Reviewed By stevenhK5550UDWe stayed here 2 nights and we can really recommand this place! The Owners and staff were really helpful and friendly. Although there was a language barrier we were helped very well with all our questions. The rooms are clean and the view of the pool is amazing :-) Breakfast was also really good.

Nice hotel, not nice staff
Reviewed By Beatriz GI stayed a few days and I found the hotel nice (the hotel premises are clean, location is good, close to the beach and shops, bars and restaurants) but the hotel staff was not nice at all. I recommend them to take some courses on customer care. They have a lot to improve.

Reviewed By CathalS1985After a long journey from bogota, we searched late in the evening for a hotel or hostel to stay in san Gil. We stumbled across this place and was greeted by a lovely lady who offered us a reduced price for a triple room with fan and ensuite. The price of 20,000 each was the same as dorms in the local area. After checking in, the lady told us about the many activities they offer. She told us again when we went out to for food and again on our return. My friend did book paragliding with them for the same price when she shopped around but the constant asking was a bit much. The room was lovely. Comfy beds. The bathroom is simply a walled room with no roof so it makes for an awkward visit when all your friends are in the room too! My main gripe is the security of this place. The room is given a lock and key. You give the key to reception when you go out. When we left our bags when we checked out, they put them in a closet under the stairs. Either of these are 2 possible answers why we had money taken from us. They did not take all our money, just some. I had $140 dollars and they took 40. My friend had 500,000 pesos and they took 100,000. All very subtle to no one asks questions. Please lock your stuff up while in the room and perhaps take the key with you rather than give to reception. Also, do not keep money in your bag that they say they will look after after you have checked out. I was not going to do this review, I emailed them instead to which they replied with an apology but said they talked to staff and no one took it. I just wanted to let you know my experience so you guys know for again.

Reviewed By Pahe04Nice ambient, and friendly service. However, on the downside: Dirty rooms. Very noisy due to traffic next to the hotel. Dirty pool. No warm water in the showers. Poor breakfast. Service only speaks Spanish, no English.

Reviewed By Debora AWe had an absolute fantastic stay in the hotel. The owner and the staff is extremely friendly. The rooms are very clean and big. We are quite tall and asked for a big double bed, as we struggled with the previous local "double beds" in other hotels. We had a huge bed and the best sleep of all our holiday. They have a decent sized pool and a delicious breakfast. The hotel is located 3 km from San Gil. A Taxi costs 6-7 COP (2 €). Most sports activities anyway come and pick you up. We have seen some proper holes in San Gill center and the city itself is not hugely attractive. In hotel Davileja you have an amazing retreat into a little paradise. They have an area where you can chill in hamacks We would definitely go back there. They have an area where you can chill in a hammock in a nice tropical garden and a table to play pool. Great place and value for money.
