Always love a place that is easy to get to, has great friendly service and is beautifully charming to boot! The Riad Verus is one such place that ticks all the boxes. The views were spectacular, and breakfast (my favourite meal of the day) was generous and delicious. The staff were extremely polite and spoke English perfectly. The best part was the social interaction and making new friends. Most important we had a great family getaway.

Riad Al Bartal

You'll be charmed by this riad in the Arab-Andalusian architecture. the limited capacity of 5 suites and 3 rooms, allows you to customize the contacts and to take the time to settle down in an harmonious décor. the patio filled with green plants offer more intimate corners for reading. A library is available and full of books on the history and cultures of Morocco and the art of oriental cooking but also something to prepare for documenting his visits to the medina and its surroundings.

This is a beautiful Riad in Fez!

Reviewed By gittyupgrl

We recommend staying at this Riad when you visit Fez. It is conveniently located a short walk from a street where your taxi can easily get you there, and it's a short walk to a main gate to the Medina. It's BEAUTIFUL! The photos do not even do it justice. We also had dinners at the Riad - the best food we had in Morocco. You can also buy beer and wine, so that's big plus. I contacted Riad al Bartal before we arrived, and they set up some affordable tours, transfers, Covid tests for us. Thanks to Ray and Omar for making it easy! I miss the delicious tagines and that amazing peach dessert. Our room was spacious and I felt like I lived in a palace!

Best fes experience

Reviewed By deeeex

The stay at Mazar completely elevated our experience at fes. Pictures don’t do it justice! It feels like home here. Siham and team work like a family and they love what they do. They don’t work off commission and just want us to have the best experience in fes. Lots of great recommendation for food, guides, shopping and anything you need! We went to many top rated local restaurants but to our surprise, the meal at riad Mazar is by farrrr the best in taste, variety and authenticity. They don’t run a restaurant and only cook for guests upon request. A must have experience if you do decide to stay here!

Beautiful Riad great service

Reviewed By bg564

Fes is a big city and big winding medina and so it was good that our driver contacted the Riad to find out exactly where it was and he arranged for someone to meet us. Our original room was a standard double but the Riad was not full so they upgraded us to a room on the ground floor just off the central courtyard. The room was gorgeous and very unique but it was bit loud in the evening because we were next to the courtyard. However the staff offered to change our room if we decided it was too loud. The staff in the Riad was outstanding and they arranged for staff to take us to restaurants because it is easy to get lost in the medina. They also arranged a guide to tour the medina. Great experience and I'd highly recommend this Riad to anyone visiting Fes.

Dar 7 Louyat

Dar 7 Louyat is a splendid mansion of the fifteenth century, a haven of peace in the heart of the medina of Fez, close to the oldest university in the world, the Great Mosque Qaraouyine and to the center of artisanal life in Fez. Dar7louyat is a "riad" or rather a "dar", a traditional old house typical of the medina and the islamic architecture. It was long inhabited by scholars of the Quarayouine mosque. Our house was proceeded a long and careful restoration according to the traditional rules of local architecture. Its architectural features are made of elegance and lightness, resulting thanks to the artskills of the owner in a feeling of rest and peace which contrasts with the busy activity of the medina.Dar 7 Louyat is located near Seffarine square where coppersmiths can be seen hammering their wares into shape, and close to the Qarayouine mosque, from which the call of the muezzin beats the rythm of the day.Dar 7 Louyat can accomodate up to 17 people. Comfort for a relaxing stay is provided thanks to 6 large bedrooms each with its own bathroom.Airport transferts can easily be arranged, guests will be taken to the house by the driver. Guests can also be met on arrival at the nearest parking. Our housekeeper and our cook will make sure your stay be comfortable, providing all the arrangements you need and cooking wonderful Moroccan cuisine. Our house is the ideal place to take in the real atmosphere of the middle-age medina of Fes.

Our best stay in Morocco

Reviewed By HM1960

This was definitely our best stay in Morocco. We loved everything here: the spacious room, the comfortable bed, nice shower, good airco, the extensive breakfast. But most of all we loved the staff: Youssef and Redouane really went out of their way to make us feel at home, and they advised and helped us with anything we needed or wanted. And we saw they did the same for every guest. We felt really at home, and their genuine hospitality made our 3-night stay feel like a family visit. The location is also ideal: easy to reach by car, and you walk straight into the medina. We could park our car right at the door. Would we go back here? Yes!! We would go back to Fès just to stay here.

Dar Roumana

Beautifully restored Riad guesthouse in the ancient medina with a 360 degree panoramic view from the furnished roof terrace, where drinks and breakfast are served. All rooms (4 suites and 1 double room) are decorated with traditional arts and crafts, intricate carved plaster, high cedar ceilings, mosaic tile floors, and hand-crafted furniture. At the heart of the Riad is an ornately tiled courtyard with a sunken fountain where our restaurant is located. The cuisine is French/Mediterranean with a Moroccan twist and dining with us is a highlight for our guests. Other amenities include an intimate salon with fireplace, large library, DVD/TV salon, roof-top BBQ, and free WiFi access. The managers provide a full concierge service to help our guests with any arrangements they might need and allow them to experience the best of the Fes Medina and surrounding areas.

A beautiful and tranquil oasis in the medina.

Reviewed By sisterraysaid

Our first visit to Fes and we have to say that the staff of Dar Roumana could not do enough for us. Taxi to meet us at the train station, porter to walk us to the hotel (a young student studying English) followed by the traditional Moroccan greeting with tea and cakes. Top tip use this service as Fes is pretty daunting on first visit! Nezha was on the front desk and she was most welcoming and attentive. Can’t praise her level of customer service enough. The same goes for all the staff who really looked after us in a relaxed and friendly manner. We stayed in the Jannah suite which was superb. Top tip, this room has steep steps to the bathroom suite and would not suit people with mobility issues. The roof terrace offers one of the best views in Fes. To the rear on the hilltop are the Merinid tombs, a 20 minute walk if you want a superb sunset/sunrise experience. To the front the medina sprawls before you with the ancient Karaouiyne university and mosque taking centre stage. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the main thoroughfare and about 15 from the blue gate. The attraction of Roumana is the tranquil setting within easy access of all the attractions. Top tip, use the porter service for getting to restaurants at a specific time as getting lost is very easy and could add unnecessary stress! However by day two we felt a lot more confident getting around. Can’t recommend the whole experience enough. Afternoon tea Moroccan style on the terrace was a lovely pause in the day.
