Top 10 Bed and Breakfast Inns in Dominican Republic, Caribbean

April 23, 2023 Renato Branum

The DR delights visitors with its mix of white-sand beaches and "gingerbread" Victorian architecture. Nine hundred miles of Caribbean coastline make the Hispaniola Island country a beach-lover’s paradise. Day-trip to Puerto Plata and ride the cable car up Mount Isabel de Torres, or groove to the steel drum beats of Cabarete nightlife. The breezy palms and sparkling waters of Punta Cana make it a true tropical paradise.

Best Club Med ever!!

We’ve been to few Club Meds but this one was by far our best experience! What made it amazing are the peoples working there. The best service we ever had in any hotel we’ve been to. Not to mention the food, the rooms so spacious and super clean… the best part of our trip is the Teen Club! My kids were crying when we were leaving! They made friends for a life time. What made it amazing was Akash!!! He was the best! He showed my kids the best time ever. Was so fun, patient and loving… they will miss him dearly. Without him it wouldn’t be the same expletive for sure! Thank you club med meches for this amazing time. We can’t wait to go back with more people!!!

Lovely spring break

Reviewed By Vicki86001

This was our first trip to the DR and we wanted to avoid the large all-inclusive resorts. My husband and I stayed 6 nights with our 14 year old daughter. We stayed in an independent villa with a small plunge pool. We flew into Santa Domingo and hired a diver, Marcos, who Sarah arranged. I would highly recommend doing this. We was an excellent, safe driver and spoke perfect English, but also was very kind in letting me practice my Spanish. He was very tolerant in listening to and answering my husband’s multitude questions. The food at the hotel was very good. We also enjoyed having a kitchen to cook our own breakfasts as needed. It is a short walk to a very lovely beach with calm waters (Playita). A short walk to restaurants and shops if you need to buy groceries or essentials. One day we took an ATV ride to Playa Rincon and Playa Bremmen. I rode with Alfredo from the hotel and my husband and daughter rode on another ATV. Would also recommend doing this day trip. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, professional, and kind. It would serve you well to know a little Spanish, but all the staff were very patient with my limited Spanish. We felt very safe in the hotel, in the town of Las Galeras, walking to the beach and also at all the beaches. Sarah, the owner was a delight to work with. I didn’t catch everyone’s names, but also enjoyed Alfredo and Luis Miguel. Beautiful grounds and very friendly people everywhere we went.

Slow down and unplug

Just returned from a week at Natura Cabana and like previous reviewers, we had a wonderful experience. We stayed in Coral, which was clean and has a lovely upstairs porch for looking out on palm trees and geckos. The restaurants served healthy and delicious food; service from everyone was excellent. We appreciated the daily tending of the resort grounds and constant surveillance from the security staff. The beach is beautiful but a bit too rough for us to go in beyond our knees. This was the perfect spot to get away from screens and other electronic distractions.

Nice place

Reviewed By Jason L

The gardens and all the nature of the property it's beautiful. The staff is really kind, the check in and check out were really fast. The rooms could use some work because they look old, the bed was not that comfortable and we did have a problem because a house across the street was having a loud music and our room 205 was in front of it. Despite that, it's a peaceful place to relax.

I just came back from week stay at Hotel Don Andres, and I had a perfect experience there. It is within walking distance to great restaurants, the strip of bars and Sosua beach! Currently curfew is 9pm, and as such it is quite as a mouse after that so restful sleep is easy. The pool here is maintained perfectly, crystal clear water. The attached restaurant bar and restaurant is attended all day and night by the owners and their staff, delicious coffee and fresh food cooked to order. I was lucky enough to enjoy owner Chris' monthly European home style beef stew, I loved it. I really enjoyed hanging for a drink at the outdoor bar, where I met some great locals who stroll in and enjoy the music, drinks, food and ambiance. (HOLA Gregorio!). There are lots of options on where to stay in Sosua, but I was so lucky to find and stay at Hotel Don Andres.

Walk to the beach!

Nice little apartment-hotel...very good deal for the price! Only about 100 yards from the beach and not too far from several beachfront restaurants. Rented a two-bedroom, as I read that the beds were small doubles...and they were...very glad I rented the two BR as the double was just not big enough for my wife and I. Room(s) were reasonably clean, although we did have to clean off the kitchen counter. Adequately furnished, and the guard and registration agent were very nice. I would definitely go there again, and may do so during another upcoming visit. No beach towels provided...linen provided is the bare minimum. WiFi was very poor.
