Tybee Island Beach

Reviewed By WalterMacken - Knoxville, United States

We go to Tybee for the beach. It is beautiful, not too crowded, even during spring break, and the water is warm. We were there in March. The locals say that it is cold, but for California refugees, it is warm (63 degrees). The air temp was a bit cool for swimming, though (68 degrees). The only drawback: parking is tight, and you may have to pay to park, unless you want to walk a bit.

We stayed in a condo with our family. We did not have to worry at all about social distancing because the beach was nearly empty every day. It is a nice beach to walk and there is always something to see.

Savannah River Beach

We were going on the Captain Mike's Dolphin tour and it leaves out of Laraetto Creek. There were dolphins swimming in the creek and the views over the river were amazing! It was a really nice trip through the area, past the Cockspur lighthouse and North beach. The smell of salt air and the views up and down the river made the trip totally worth it!

South beach is our favorite part of Tybee (our favorite Savannah Georgia Beach) and ideal if you really want the beach. The island has a low-key vibe, lots of public beach access and Tybee island restaurants are literally the best! There is no better place to relax, go fishing and enjoy the sun and food!
