B&B Kuranoya is located at a place suitable for the village of a folktale. It's very quiet and heart-warming guest house. If you want,we can tell you the old folktale of Tono in English.
Luxury in a pleasing unpretentious way
Reviewed By AGRTravelerToshihiro went out of his way to make our visit smooth and rich. He picked us up and drove us to a local matsuri (festival). On the next day he checked weather and proposed a good schedule with details of transportation connections. Breakfast and dinner were yummy and balanced. Good coffee!! The room had a lovely tatami smell and was perfectly spotless, quiet and comfortable. Laundry capability too! Our visit to Tono will be a highlight of our 7 weeks in Japan. Kuranoya and the gracious and generous hospitality are an important part of that. Toshihiro (and his wife) have an invitation to visit us. That’s how special they are.

First class hotel especially for price
Reviewed By boucheeWith a single room priced at less than $100 I was worried. Didn’t need to be. On par with Metropolitan hotels in bigger cities. Ample Japanese breakfast included. No onsen. Room windows open a bit for fresh air. Clean. Quiet. Big lobby. 5 min flat walk to end of main street that starts at station. Didn’t try restaurant. Went looking for local color and found it at Den. Good local spot run by mother and daughter who keep the place ( 10 or so counter seats) and a couple tables lively. See review. Good bike ride to Futurosa village but take cycle path instead of street.

遠野での隠れ宿的な感じ
Reviewed By Relax804447遠野駅からは離れた場所なので車で行かないと無理かと思います。遠野市の上水道の浄化場を作る時に一緒に作った設備でしょうかね。風呂は2っあり定期的に男女入れ替えで使っています。風呂は人工温泉みたいで、夕方になると仕事終わりの市民で混雑します。宿泊する部屋に、壁掛けのルームエアコンとスチーム暖房機が備え付いていますが、スチーム暖房機は一括で働く様で勝手にON.OFFのですが、そのせいか室内がとても乾燥した状態になり、これが結構喉や唇が辛い状態になります。冬時期部屋が乾燥状態以外は、満足出来るレベルかもです。

値段相応で満足です
Reviewed By 19suko清潔できれいでした。お盆の時期だったので少々高かったですが満足です。しかしコテージの前の道路が一台しか通れないため、誰かがチェックインチェックアウトの度に車を動かさなければならなかったのが不便でした。
