We had been in a dust storm the day before in Golmud and there was very much dust left in the atmosphere so you could only see a couple of hundred meters so we missed it on the way up, but on the way down in the morning what a sight to see all the animals and the morning sun gleaming on the ice capped mountains a sight I will never forget.

Its an interesting geological place that not many tourist. In fact I'm the only foreign tourist. It's about 2 hours plus car ride from Xining city. It's worth the ride and the view through out the journey is magnificent. If you are in Xining you can hire a private car. I paid 500 Yuan to my driver. You can contact Mr Ma via WeChat ID: MHW626
