Church of St. Jacob Cathedral

Reviewed By podrozniczka60 - New Jersey, United States

This church originally was built in the second half of 14th century and it has castle-like appearance. It is a good example of Warmia Gothic architecture . It is located just a short walk from the old square. The beautiful interior includes Gothic, late-Renaissance, and Baroque art elements. The bronze 2000 door is the new addition and complements the much older character of the church. This beautiful house of worship features often organ concerts but the easiest way to hear it is during the mass. Masses take place here daily several times a day.

The church is amazing and very beautiful, also the little town is lovely as well. Inside the church you can find very special organ with moving statues. You can hear them playing about 8 times per day and it is worth the visit.

Located in the heart of old town in Elblag and you can't miss it. It is huge, brick layered and lovely decorated. On the side you can find dedication statue to the Karol Wojtyla. Take a minute to have a quick pray and explore the city.

Carthusian Church Monastery

Reviewed By pawel_hbg - Sopot, Poland

The collegiate church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kartuzy is the best preserved church of the Carthusian order in Poland. The monastery with the beautiful name "Paradise of Mary" was a place of Carthusian religious life, and its pearl is the church which is a testimony of the founders' faith. The monuments of former Carthusia include: a monastery church, one hermitage, refectory, well and some outbuildings.
