Streamvale Open Farm

Open every day from the 17th of March until 4th of November 2018. We are not just a farm but a fantastic family experience with many opportunities for children and parents to learn and play together. Our staff are always on hand to make sure you and your family have a fantastic day out and we all hope to see you soon! We try to make sure that the kids get a real hands on experience with our animals, letting them handle and feed them with our staff. We also have many different play areas for the kids to make sure they have as much fun as possible. We opened our new farm themed Play Village last year, this state of the art play center encourages children to learn and develop through role play. It is super fun and includes a milking parlour, farm shop and and vet's clinic to name a few. This year we have new alpacas and free tractor and barrel rides for everyone! Families typically spend around 3 hours with us and students are very welcome! Our pups are a big hit!

We went with grandparents, family friends, 2 toddlers and 1 baby and we all had a great time! The farm is very interactive with feeding, cuddling, rides and various types of play with an educational side to everything. It was extremely child friendly with hand washing stations everywhere. The farm is also very thoughtful with back stories on the animals and baby animals which made everything all the more interesting. Definitely a wonderful day for the whole family.

The Ark Open Farm

The Ark Open Farm is a fantastic family day out; the farm itself is set in 40 acres of beautiful countryside between Newtownards and Bangor. It’s home to a huge selection of farm animals and some that are a little more exotic. We opened the farm back in 1990 as one of the first open farms in Northern Ireland specialising in rare breeds of farm animals. Over the years we have added to our collection as well as developing our facilities to include indoor & outdoor play areas, quad & tractor rides and a really cool fairy-tale forest. The Ark Open Farm is a family run business and our team consists of passionate, animal loving folks who strive to make your experience on the farm extra special. There is something for everyone; animals, activities, lovely food and friendly people.

Went to the Ark farm today with my husband, daughter, son in Law and one year old grandson. We had a wonderful day, there was so much to do and the tractor trailer ride to the Fairytale forest was a great hit. There were lots of play areas for little ones to run around and explore, a large variety of animals to see. There were one way systems in place and lots of hand washing facilities as well as plenty of hand sanitizer. We had lunch in the cafe which was good value and enjoyable. What made the day extra special was the wonderful staff who as well as keeping everywhere clean ensured everyone had an enjoyable day.

We {CAPAA } took 18 children and 10 staff to Mount Panther for the day at the beginning of August as the children enjoyed it so much last year. They were all really excited and had a great time feeding and petting the animals. As it is over a good area there was no rushing or queuing, the children were able to spend time at their favourite area and have freedom to go on their own.(not something that usually happens). We had our lunch there and this was well organised with our group all together. The staff were attentive and patient and there was plenty of"red sauce" to go round. After lunch they had another walk around and some even went on the go carts!! One child spotted the tractor and wouldn't come away The driver saw that he was upset and took him for a ride in one of the barrels all by himself..The smile on his face said it all.The staff in Mount Panther may be young but they are a kind, caring group who go out of their way to ensure the children are enjoying the experience. Everywhere we went there was visible hand washing facilities and lots of picnic tables to sit at.Our group really enjoyed the day and we want to thank Seamus and everyone for helping to make it happen. We will be back!

A great place to take kids. Staff are all so friendly and helpful from the moment you enter the front door. Sophie was great with all the small animals and spent time to take them from their cage to pet. All the facilities are very good and you could spend a good day here walking around at your leisure seeing all the animals, better to take wellies and coats for the outdoor animal pens. A great indoor play area and tea room to finish with.
