Kukkolaforsen

The family business Kukkolaforsen Tourism & Conference Ltd. is run by the Spolander family. We have been active, in various ways, in the area for over 5 generations. Through lots of hard work we are constantly improving our specialties: gourmet fare, saunas ad conferences. Not long ago we had a shift in generations within the business and it is now their goal to continue developing and running Kukkolaforsen Tourism & Conference. We will continue to do everything we can to satisfy our customers and offer the most personalized service possible. Kukkolaforsen Tourism & Conference Ltd. is a conference, experience and knowledge center in the Torne Valley. The spirit of the region is presented by the rustic accommodation, the various sauna experiences, and the rewarding fishing opportunities.

When a very long river as the Tornea goes to the Botnian gulf, then you have some very steep jumps in various localtion. Kukkolaforsen is the most interesting one: amazing fishing spot and hiking place. Suggestion: go for it from the Swedish side as it is more spectacular.

Vasterbottens Museum

Reviewed By Kipuka83 - Oslo, Norway

It is a small open air museum. We were there during the Samisk veckan (the sami week) in march and they had activities and real reindeer on the premises :) Thanks to a recent snowfall and perfect blue sky it was a great day to visit the museum. The museum building also houses some interesting collections and exhibitions about the region.

We are a cultural and historical center in Gammelstad Church Town with buildings from the 18th until the 20th century. Throughout the year, the museum has a rich and varied range of activities and events for all ages. Here you can experience everything from common farm animals and the daily life of old Sweden to the big Christmas market and our traditional Midsummer celebration.
