Discover the non-touristic Georgia on this full day trip to the macabre town of Chiatura - once a modern mining town with highest number of cable cars, it resembles a ghost town today with its abandoned mines, empty apartments and decaying Soviet architecture. The time seems to stand still here and so you can take a ride in one of the last rusty cable cars, overlooking the factories, enjoy the panorama view from the half-abandoned concrete settlements on the hills and see a morbide dedication to Stalin here and there. On our tour we also visit the country side of Imereti region, that builds a contrast to industrial Chiatura - the ancient holy pillar of Katskhi with a tiny church on top or the rock hew Mgvimevi convent with frescoes from XIV century.

Perfect place for recreation. Everyone knows that nature in Georgia is very beautiful, people are kind and hostible, churches are very old. But i wanna notice that there are very nice and comfortable hotels in Racha. If you visit this place once, you will have a desire to visit it again and again! Recommend everyone!

We had a great day on the Kakheti Wine Tour , We tasted a lot of good Wines ,had a nice ride in the countryside , had some stops at the roadside to explore a little part of Georgia . A god lunch in Sighnaghi were we also tried some fruits at the market, we also visited a beatiful monastery, The guide Micha(l) was great and spoke very good english, one of our best days in Georgia.

From beginning to end, Exotour proved themselves to be a professional business. Mariam (and Nico) dealt with all my questions and the payment process in a very timely manner and with great courtesy and warmth. The trip was really well-organised and then guided by Paata, who was informative, warm and friendly and treated me more as a guest than a client. I felt like I was being shown Georgia by a good friend. He knew all the places to get the best versions of the local food, while on the road.

There is no prelude here and no nice words can describe this place. There is an old Soviet sign welcoming the visitors to Chiatura and then, Chiatura conquers you. This is definitely a special place with a post-apocalyptic touch. Chiatura is one of the largest manganese deposits in the world. Here you can see fascinating nature, the soviet cable cars going up to the rock (some of them with almost right angle), Centuries Old Mgvimevi Monastery on the top of the rock-mountain, ancient Katskhi pillar, with millennium old orthodox church down there. What can be more magical then this city between rocks? You shouldn't leave Georgia without this unbelievable experience.
