Sakura Terrace The Atelier

Good location and very interesting culture

Reviewed By MattNHTan

I like the location and its walking distance to Kyoto station or subway and near a convenient stall. Breakfast, you are given three choices (if you don't take beef, then only 1 choice or if you are vegetarian, also one choice). Room is small with a handwashing area. The bed is not very comfy and the mattress is a bit thin. The extra pillow is available. And the soundproof of the room is not great. Washing machine and dryer are available and it's free. Each floor, there is a male and female toilet and the shower area is very interesting. ONSEN!!!! Spacious and i kind of like the onsen especially after a long day.

Very nice stay

After we’d recovered from the shock of our greeting by two anxious dinosaur robots, we checked in and appreciated this hotel: very clean, large rooms, great breakfast in adjacent Molly’s The Craft Kitchen (where anyone can eat during the rest of the day), and it has a terrific location close to the station.

Mitoya autumn magic!

Reviewed By Vinman_III

We stayed at the beautiful and spacious Mitoya villa for two nights and three days. Absolutely enjoyed our time in the 150-year old property, with its iron hearth, beautiful sliding doors and paper frame windows. The property was very well maintained, stocked with supplies and fully functional with modern amenities. The Miyama F&B team is extremely professional (special recognition and many thanks to Michael - our friendly and informative Japanese-speaking French guide), communicative and helpful in making this holiday so much more memorable. From the highly personalised check-in and preparations, to the wonderful Bamboo crafting workshop - we had an amazing holiday experience that let us see another beautiful side of Japan.

Reviewed By nagamachan

IVY uses "1K" which was mainstream around 1985-1995. . The rental property specifications reflect that era. "1K", which can be said to be the product of the bubble period, is the first single type in Japan with a private toilet and shower in the private room! There was no washing machine in 1K at this time, and it was common sense to use a coin laundry for washing alone. In the bubble period, land in Tokyo Ginza with an area of one cigarette box was 100 million yen. It was an era when land prices were the highest in the world. Rents for rent are also expensive, and in order to reduce rent, all equipment must be installed efficiently in a small space. It was a dream property for young people at a time when they had to live alone in the city to go to a good university or a good company. Here, unlike accommodation for sightseeing, it is a residence where old Japanese lived normally. It is a valuable space where you can shop, eat, and simulate living in Kyoto. It is a small Japanese size, but please enjoy it as a valuable experience.

Reviewed By 霈慈 陳

Not so good

Reviewed By MiLui3

I stayed here for three nights with my boyfriend. We chose this apartment because it was one of the cheapest where to stay in Kyoto. The apartment is very small (but this is normal in Japan)...the bathroom is very small too...but the very bad things are the beds! We had a bunk bed. It was really unconfortable and dirty. The mattress was very thin and under it there was just a wood table. Wifi works properly.
