Great hospitality, especially from Yale, the receptionist. She was very insightful and very sweet. Very centrical town with quick access to the main plaza and churches. Highly recommend for the Centro Historico zone.

This is a working farm. You can tour the farm animals, sit out on the grass patio, or go up to the pond, and go fishing. It’s free to fish, but five dollars to keep a fish. The rooms are very nice, and have a heater. The main restaurant is very cozy, and they build a fire every night. We ordered the home made mozzarella, for an appetizer, it was excellent, and the porterhouse steak for dinner, which was one of the best that I’ve ever had. This is definitely off the beaten path, and you take a cobble Stone Road several kilometers off of the highway to get here. There is a single lane road for about 1 km, in which you cannot pass any other cars.

Authentic , comfortable and very friendly in a perfect location in old town

Reviewed By debbiepug

As a solo traveller this small hotel was perfect for me. It is luxurious and full of authentic character inside and has a family-run atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help you. It is located just off the Plaza Grande in the old town. A refreshing change from staying in large faceless corporate hotels. Highly recommended- when booking suggest you ask for a room away from the road. My room was a little noisy- the locals just love to hoot their horns!!

We stayed here in 3 different rooms. We were part of a birding group but came 1 day early. We stayed in a suite on that day but had to switch to a regular room the next day. When we were done with the birding tour, we stayed one more night in a different suite. The suites were nice; we had a balcony on the 4th floor suite. Both suites have a washing machine, kitchen, microwave and a jacuzzi bathtub. I’d recommend staying in a suite if available because the regular room is quite small. Strangely, they didn’t provide facial tissues or towels so we had to buy them from a supermarket nearby (the Supermaxi market on ave 12 de Octubre is 20’ away on foot). Breakfast was ok with fruits, eggs and bread with ham but the view overlooking the valley was wonderful. There was no taxi in front of the hotel. To use the yellow taxi, go to Hotel Quito just 3 blocks away. Several waiting taxis are usually there. We spent only $3 taxi fare to go to Quito Old Town Mercado Central. Food at Mercado Central was extremely cheap and excellent so it was worth going there. For bakery, Fondant cafe panaderia on Ave 12 de Octubre is 8’ away on foot. A pretty good hotdog and burger joint (Los Hot Dogs de la González Suárez) was 2 blocks away. On the negative side, the Mirador park next door is full of empty alcohol bottles, garbage and graffiti but the place feels reasonably safe.

Attention in the front desk really good. The rooms were nice but not the best for the price. The carpet all around the building looks a bit dirty. Besides that the ceiling had some leak. But the most annoying thing is the personal that didn’t wear face mask (in COVID pandemic) even though they prepare the drinks.

Simply charming

Reviewed By Aileen013

Really thrilled to have found this little gem of a hotel. Whoever is responsible for the decor deserves accolades. From first entering the lobby, to the common areas, and the rooms, the place is really lovely. Interesting and unusual design features abound. Everything is also spotlessly clean. Each staff member is responsive, courteous and well spoken. This truly does have the potential to become an internationally rated hotel. All the components are there. My guess would be that none of the staff have actually experienced a top class hotel and, I think they would benefit from that exposure. Maybe watch the show - The Night Manager! We had a few little glitches, delays in service etc. Nothing terrible but also nothing that should happen at a ‘top’ establishment. We had a suite and, unusually, it did not have any sitting options. There was one chair by a desk/table and a hard bench at the end of the bed. We’d have liked a couple of chairs or small couch so that we could sit and relax inside. The restaurant was also excellent - wonderful food, good wines and unbeatable views. We definitely will return,

Great place for kids!

Reviewed By Catherine F

We went here off-peak time and so it was very empty but the staff turned on the installments for us as we needed them and we were looked after. My youngest 8 loved it so much! The pools and the river all the installments are great. We stayed and the room was lovely, modern, air-conditioned and clean, very impressive and I had not expected such high standards so was really pleased. A couple of things I would say are safes in the room would be good, we had no issues at all and were assured our stuff was safe which it was but still I think this would be a good option. 99.999% of the staff were amazing and so helpful however one guy gave very bad service waiting for 1 hour for 2 drinks and another time 40 mins same guy, they should be sure to keep a check on their staff so as not to let the rest down. Food is ok and my eldest was addicted to the coconut batido (smoothie) lovely! They are currently building larger slides etc which is needed as my 12 years old would have appreciated that. Right now the park is geared towards younger children. Happy to see them expanding and we would certainly recommend it, stay and go again - no doubt we will be back!
