It's in a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance to Charles Darwin center and the shops/restaurants on the island. Manager Carlos was helpful with everything.

Reviewed By kigsThe hotel was very comfortable, clean, and close to everything. Friendly staff and owners. The only issue we had was one night, the front gate was looked and it took a while to locate the night attendant to open the door for us to leave.

We have four separate apartments for rent. Each apartment comes with high speed WIFI, cable TV with English speaking stations, fireplaces, outdoor terraces, private gardens, writing desks, fresh linens, complete set of cooking supplies and utensils, natural gas stove, microwave, towels, and all you need for a great Ecuadorian experience with modern western conveniences and luxuries. The owner also runs a large Spanish School in Banos which provides great opportunities to learn and practice Spanish.

Reviewed By DougP172I'll try to make this short. I am a Canadian senior (retired photojournalist) 71 years old presently spending 5 months here in Banos, Ecuador. I was looking to rent an apartment by the month and found Mayra online. She agreed to rent me her Studio Suite for $300USD per month and asked for a $50 deposit which I sent her. She also asked if I would pick her up some vitamins in Canada because they are cheaper here. I did her that favor. On arriving I immediately paid her $300 rent and gave her the vitamins. After a few days I had to "ask her" to repay me (amount on receipt $22.71). She paid me only $20...no big deal I guess...I let it go. A tip would have been more appropriate. I was just beginning to learn about Mayra! The Studio Suite was a nightmare for noise...dozens of dogs barking all night long and construction on the roof of house next door. Welders grinding and welding for 3 weeks steady. Unbearable.... never opened the windows once in a month due to already so much noise and welding smell! I admit that she did offer me another room which might have been quieter...though I doubt it. Here's the killer....when I told her I would move end of month due to so much noise. She kept $30 of my $50 deposit. WHY? I closed the apartment door one day and the handle came off...just like that...pulling the door closed. My guess is it was previously broken. She charged me $15. And the cheap glass (12" by 18") in the refrigerator broke from the weight of a large yogurt container. She charged me another $15 for that. I was quite willing to pay for the glass ..probably $3-$4. I admit that the noisy neighborhood is NOT Mayra's fault. But the fact that she is a con artist and a thief certainly is! She WILL take advantage of travellers....and as I'm learning she has a bad reputation locally for doing that!! She will respond saying I am lying...I have have no reason to lie!!!!....she has every reason to lie. I recommend not having anything to do with this woman ever. Bad news!!

A beautiful, unobtrusive apartment suites and rooms with private bathrooms building that overlooks the Dry Tropical Forest in Galapagos National Park on Santa Cruz Island. Large, open rooms are warm, welcoming and brand new appliances make for a very comfortable stay in Ariana's Galapagos Hostal. Being only a 15 minutes walk (5 minutes biking or 3 minutes taxi ride) from the sea front and 2 minutes to the nearest convenience store. Is perfectly located at the edge of the town, were is nice to rest well, away from the noise of the downtown of Puerto Ayora. If you love to be close to nature of Galapagos National Park dry tropical Forest and enjoy our organic full american breakfast homemade style meanwhile you have a nice view from our terrace of the ocean in the distance from one side and the mountain of the extinc volcano on the other side. Having the privilege of the visit of Darwin finches, Galapagos mockingbirds and yellow warblers at breakfast time. A perfect place to feel at home

Reviewed By AndiT303Hotel is quite far from the waterfront, but its not a big issue as the walk is nice 15-20 min or you take a cab which is all time available for 1,5$. Its called Hostal but rooms are like in a Hotel. They are nice and clean. At the roof top you have nice view, tables and a bar which was not on duty when i was there. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I wanted to change my flight and the receptionist was very helpful and even wanted to go with me to the agency in town which was unfortuntely not existed anymore. For it class i can strongly recommend to stay there

Explicitly told them I was only going to be there for 3 days on arrival - instead of the 5 originally booked - and refused to acknowledge the change even though there was 72 hours notice. Then tried to use the credit for friends which they had agreed to and decided against it upon check out. I am seldom angry at a place but leaving there - and now leaving the island - I have a sour taste in my mouth. They went out of their way to be as difficult as possible and nickel and dime for absolutely ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. If I heed any advice, avoid this place.

Reviewed By Laura BThis place is fantastic! It's an entire apartment! Best shower I've had in Ecuador. The full kitchen is an extra bonus. Can't beat it for the price. The neighborhood is great too. Good restaurants and the market is down the street where we found souvenirs to take home. If we come back to Quito we will definitely stay here!

Clean, safe, private accomodation with nice owners
Reviewed By TVTravI sent an inquiry to the owners before booking and received a prompt response, which I appreciated. The apartment was a 2-bed 2-bath with nice window views (no balcony, but I think some have). As others have mentioned, the furnishings and kitchen supplies are basic but adequate, it was very clean, the internet was pretty fast and reliable, and the owners are very nice, helpful people. It's a bit outside the center but walkable, offers easy access to restaurants and grocery stores, and is near a hospital with a 24 hour pharmacy which also sells water and snacks. Also as others have mentioned, it is across from a school, so there is indeed some noise during the morning and afternoon, but night seems to be reasonably quiet for a city. Late/light sleepers might want to use earplugs since the school bell goes off early. Other than that, it's definitely a good option for people seeking flexibility, privacy, and helpful hosts.
