Yumotokan

After touring 4 tasteful hot springs such as the open-air bath "Gesshin-no-Yu" on the top floor with great view of Lake Biwa, and another open-air bath "Togen-Shoyo" presenting natural beauty, you will enjoy the relish of Ohmi Beef, one of three Japanese beef brands, or Kaseki in Kyoto style. "Hanare Karoi" where every room has an open-air bath.

Fantastic Ryokan style hotel!

Reviewed By TseY

I stayed at Yumotokan during the Christmas holiday and it was a beautiful ryokan style hotel with multiple onsen facilities for the guests. Both breakfast and dinner were included in my bookings and the food was sensational! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to visit Lake Biwa!

Just 20 min from Kyoto Station

Ogoto HOT SPRING is the largest hot spring resort just 20min by green color pretty train from Kyoto Station. It is very popular as a hot spring with skin-enriching properties thanks to its high alkaline levels, which give your skin a smooth feel after bathing. Almost all hotels have their own transportaion buses b/w the Ogoto station and their accomodation. When you call the hotel after reaching the Ogoto station, they can pick you up at the station. It is free. I booked Yuzanso for 1 night staying to enjoy the hot spring. All staffs are very good hospitality. The breakfast is healthy. Very reasonable price, not expencive, but if you would like to enjoy Japanese hot spring to boost up your health, this hotel should be better than another hotels there. They have the restaurant (good)and bar(okay for beer not cocktail ) When you have some problems in the hotel, all staffs will help you to resolve them as soon as possible. The bed is a little bit small, but I like this hotel in Ogoto Hot Spring area. Ogoto Herb Garden is next door from Yuzanso. I enjoyed herb tea. It should be perfect healing staying. Recommend.

Great place to relax and eat

Pro: The pick up from and to the hotel was pretty easy. We called as soon as we arrived at the station and got picked up within 5 minutes. The hotel staff and very very attentive and cares for your every need. The traditional Kaiseki-Dinner ist very recommendable, the beef was TOP and of high quality! The public onsen was pretty nice as well, even though the onsen designated for the men can be seen from the surrounding buildings. "Contra": We booked the Deluxe Room with an open air bath (onsen) on the balcony which cost a steep amount of money and yet, the water was not hot because it's natural spring water and the temperature outside was around 2°C. Too bad, we would have loved to use the bath but couldn't. But overall a great stay and would definitely come back again!

After finish onsen, there is one space that we can overlook small nice garden and enjoy the peaceful with 8'C breeze in december. So relaxing ... We spent 97k yen for 4 adults including the kaiseki dinner (forgot to take shabu pict) and breakfast

Best Ryokan in Japan!!

Reviewed By cama9572

This was the best part of our trip. We stayed in a room with a private tub and it was the best. We also did the Kobe beef dinner and it was the best food we had our entire trip. It was not to far from Kyoto. The staff was AMAZING!!! My wife is allergic to shellfish and they made us a custom breakfast to accommodate her allergy with out us even asking. My wife literally cried when we left from how much we appreciated their hospitality. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Komolebi

Regarding the accommodation rate for Komolebi, you can use a Japanese-style room for three people with only 8,400 yen per night (excluding consumption tax) per person for weekdays with the most standard plan, Toku-Toku Plan. Our guests sometimes ask us that "Why so cheap?", "Are the meals included?", etc. No wonder people worry about our rate compared to the one for common business hotels in town, because ours are for a Hot-spring hotel and also two meals are included. Then how can Komolebi do with this rate? Because we totally pass the savings on to you by providing simple service. serving tea are cut instead. We have not waitress, but we prepare your meals in the restaurant. We give back to our guests by making cost savings reasonably responding to our guest's request that they would like to enjoy a hot-spring hotel with reasonable rate. This is the primary reason that Yunoyado Komolebi is selected.

the best place in Japen

I visited there twice before, and I already make a reservation this winter again. Here you can feel the very Japanese atmosphere and the food is really nice. I also love the ryokan(spa) next to this place. You should go there which is in the Yomotokan. Service, Room, Food, Mood everything is great, even it is not that expansive! Thanks to be born lol

Awesome ryokan with excellent service and a good breakfast

Reviewed By Roger Y

Our stay was during the Easter Holiday 2015 and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We really loved this place and would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel welcomed and appreciated for their business. They basically treat you like family and are so helpful. The atmosphere was also very pleasant and quiet. We had a pretty crappy trip on our way to Japan, but this place really made us cheer up right away. At first, we were thinking about ditching the stay there because we thought it was so far away from Kyoto, but it's really not. It's only about a 15 min train ride from Kyoto station. You do need to take a taxi or ask them to pick you up at Ishiyama station which only takes another 5-10 mins. The staff really greeted us warmly and even though only one person there was able to communicate in English well, they were still more than happy to try to help us. Use the Google Translate app on your phone (be sure to pick up a SIM card for your phone - it comes in so handy in Japan). With that in hand, communicating was a bit easier. Every morning, a traditional Japanese breakfast was prepared and waiting for us in a common dining room. The food was excellent and fresh. One morning, they even prepared crab miso soup. If you don't like seafood, you probably won't like their breakfast. It is only included if you purchase it as part of your stay. The room was very spacious and clean. The room we got had twin beds which wasn't ideal for a couple, but we were able to sleep well. There was a living room with a Japanese style table where you sit on the floor. Outside of our room was a little garden and sitting area as well as a big tub to hang out in. We didn't use it as it was raining during our stay. The room felt like our own little apartment in Japan! They also provide a shuttle bus in the morning to get to the closest train station which really was helpful to get you going sightseeing quickly. Nearby, there's a huge mall called AEON with quite a few restaurants that should help you take care of any shopping and hunger needs. They also have a hot spa there, but we never found time to use it and were a bit shy as well (in Japan walk around naked inside =) ). The only negative we can say is that there's no wifi in the room and the shower isn't very comfortable (still clean), but probably more Japanese style which we weren't used to

Very welcoming!

Reviewed By Nicole E

We stayed here one night after doing the K-On anime pilgrimage in Toyosato. It was our first ryokan experience and it really couldn't have been better! Most of the staff don't speak much english, but they were very friendly and earnest in helping us understand everything. We felt very welcomed. The room was spacious and comfortable (though be aware the western-style beds are VERY firm!), the baths were soothing, and the view of Lake Biwa is beautiful. We were totally blown away by the dinner which turned out to be a 12 course extravaganza of various local foods. Be hungry at dinner time! We were completely stuffed by the end. Oh, and they have the cutest little beagle puppy that I got to pet before they took her for her evening walk. Totally made my trip. Rooms: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Dog: 12/10
