The best available Resorts to stay near Galle

May 8, 2023 Trinity Boughner

Perched on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, Galle wears its history on its sleeve. Windswept beaches and nodding palms surround its colonial-era showpiece, a 16th-century Portuguese-built fort, while the rest of the city is trimmed with Dutch-style houses, quirky shops, whitewashed mansions, and heritage museums.

26th Dec 2021 we went to Rampart hotel for our lunch and we have ordered Chicken Biriyani. It was late 30 min. Once I received the biriyani I was confused. It's really not a biriyani. It's yellow rice with chicken curry. I had to pay RS 1,050.00 for yellow rice. Terrible. When we ask from them about this. They said this our biriyani. Worthless place

Dont believe the pics

We booked two nights after believing what we saw and read online, but fled after one night. Hotel is in a beautiful location and may have been worth staying in many years ago. Today it is run-down, dirty, and should be avoided at all cost.

Resort Located in Galle with a Lovely Swimming Pool !

Reviewed By Nelum B

I came to Elliot Nature Resort in Galle for the Sri Lankan New year holidays and extended for another night. The hotel is very attractive from the outside as it has been built near a rocky wall with a nice swimming pool to relax in during the morning after breakfast ! I booked the Budget Double Room for Rs 2000 and while the amenities were nice with a fan and large bathroom, it seemed that the space was limited, as me and my sister found that the furniture was taking alot of space and no room to walk around, there was no view also. We asked for the tea and coffee making facilties and the staff were friendly and gave us the kettle, but we were asked to buy our own tea and sugar. etc !! Luckily, there is a small shop within 6 minutes walking distance of the hotel and we managed to buy what we needed. Breakfast was about Rs 350 and we were given fried eggs, toast and tea upon requesting at check in. I loved the pool and the view is very destressing with the natural plants and shrubs in the garden. Good for families, couples or friends to stay, but you need to be prepared to go for your meals outside and get your tea and milk things ready !!! An overall relaxing stay, but located abit away from the Galle Fort. You can get a tuk for about Rs 150 to Rs 200 to take you there from the road.
